This was a filthy hotel from the elevator floors to our room's tile floors to the food in the sofa bed on the dirty fitted sheet left on it. My reservation was for 5 guests and we were only given 4 towels and there was no bedding for the sofa bed. I called the front desk and she promised to bring them up. Much later, I gave up and went down to get them myself (the front desk clerk was busy with a very inappropriate and loud personal call). When I tried to make up the sofa bed (which was old, stained, and very flat), I discovered food crumbs all over and when I completely opened it, it still had a fitted sheet with more food stuck to the bottom and a horribly stained mattress. I put all the bedding I was given on top of everything and used our own pillow and blanket we'd brought. I asked the front desk employee who checked us in what they would do to make it right because the room was so dirty (sticky floors, crumbs all over the sofa bed, and a mouse dropping on the floor lamp). She looked at me and shrugged and answered the phone and ignored me. I was too tired after driving all day to look for another place. I figured I'd wait to find the next manager on duty.
I tried to clean the sticky tile floors in our room with a hand towel and it turned completely black. I took this downstairs and showed the housekeeping manager and shared the feedback about our room with her as well. She said, okay, I'll talk to my staff and see what I can do. At midnight, I was awakened at almost midnight by 3 vehicles parked just outside the lobby partying and drinking. I couldn't believe the staff would allow this and I called them and after 15 minutes, they moved their cars and party elsewhere.
There were also questionable characters roaming around the hotel hallways and when I got out of the elevator, I felt like I should walk past my room so they wouldn't know which room was mine because it was in clear sight of the elevator. This happened more than once.
I can say that the best part of our stay was the breakfast. The lady working did a great job and was very friendly and I told her so.
I've been a platinum member of IHG before and this was a big disappointment for what I expect out of the Holiday Inn name. I realize it's hard to find good help now, but I paid a premium to stay here and didn't get my value. I also brought the issues to the attention of 3 different staff members with no apologies and a tiny...
Read moreI was in town for a family event and stayed here. It was wonderful. The common areas were very clean. There is an indoor pool that was directly across from our room on the 1st floor. I didn't use it but it was sparkling clean.
We booked a room with 1 queen & 1 king bed (there were 4 in our party). There was also a small fridge with a microwave on top & a Keurig machine. The room was spotless and the mattresses looked new. We checked for signs of bedbugs and saw none.
The bathroom was spotless as well and the towels were very white. The ceiling looked like it had been patched and not properly painted over (no leaks though). Also, there were what looked like water stains on back of bathroom door. There was a nice large shower head with good water pressure.
The beds were firm, but not hard. Very comfy even on my bad back. There were firm and soft pillows on the bed which was indicated on the pillowcase. There were 2 nightstands, a chair & Ottoman, a desk and a desk chair. The desk chair was comfortable to sit in, but was peeling all over and looked awful. It was way past the replacement point.
The lady at the front desk for the majority of our stay was so nice, I think her name was Carla. My sister and I had a nice conversation with her one day. Honestly, all hotel employees that I encountered were friendly and helpful. Note: No room service due to COVID. Anything we needed, we got from the front desk, but the instruction sheet we were given at check-in said that you could request service is staying more than one night.
There was no hot breakfast due to COVID, but there was hot coffee in the lobby all day as well as grab & go bags with things like granola bars and a few other items.
Check in and check out was a breeze. A $50 hold was placed on my credit card for incidentals during the stay. I don't know how it works if you use a debit card.
The Blue Ash area is nice. There are lots of other hotels around due to the large numbers of business and industrial parks in the vicinity and some local places to eat within 5-6 miles. There's also a Buffalo Wild Wings within that radius.
I'd definitely recommend a stay here and would stay again when I'm back...
Read moreWe just had a 2 night stay at this hotel. While reserving our room online, we made sure this hotel offered cribs as we have a 2 year old. Upon checking in, we asked for a crib and the front desk staff let us know that they don't offer cribs and never have. We did try to have our 2 year old sleep in the middle of the bed with us, but it didn't work and we maybe got 1-2 hours of sleep total, which made for a hard day at Kings Island the following day. That night after Kings Island, we went to buy our own pack-n-play mobile crib at Walmart. We pulled up at 9:58 and they said they were closing. We drove 18 miles to the next store open, Meijer, to purchase one. We didn't return back to the hotel until almost midnight. We also could not get a single clean towel during our entire stay...When we checked in, they told us they were running behind on laundry and would bring them up shortly. However, each time we asked there were none clean. We were using the tiny pool towels until those ran out too.
Also, when we checked in, they told us they were offering breakfast. When we went down for breakfast, the front desk staff looked confused and asked us to hold on. She then popped back out and asked us to wait again. Then every couple of minutes she brought out a random item like a bottle of apple juice and an orange. It was like she was pulling items out of the employee fridge or something and was totally unprepared.
We would love to be reimbursed for the crib we had to purchase there and only use for one night - we have no use for it now. We would also love some kind of either reimbursement or free night stay to make up for our sleepless night and no clean towels. I couldn't find a customer service email on the website, so I am hoping someone reads these reviews.
THE POSITIVES - The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are pretty nice. So if you don't mind not using a full bath towel and don't need a crib and bring your own breakfast, you...
