My fiance and I have been looking forward to trying Tikka grill since we saw the “opening soon” sign. We finally had it for the first time tonight and I literally just finished dinner and let me tell you… the Gyro and the Philly were AMAZING! Food is not greasy at all, everything is fresh, and the flavors absolutely MELT in your mouth.
As soon as I walked in, I absolutely loved the decor and all employees greeted me with a smile and how are you? And not like a “fake” how are you, but a genuine “happy you’re here” how are you!
And the fries?! Oh my goodness… these were the best fries I’ve ever had and it’s not even close.
Bonus? I’ve never heard of a Baclava before and I said it was my first time trying Tikka, and they gave me some Baclava on the house! I’m not one to usually try new things but wow… I can’t even describe the flavor other than it made my eyes roll in the back of my head. Unbelievably good!
I’m not one to usually leave reviews, but I absolutely had to for Tikka. Please do yourself a favor and eat here. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is amazing. I will DEFINITELY be coming back, and I hope those from the Cincinnati area will...
Read moreNot sure why everyone rates this so well, but my experience wasn't even a 4. Don't get me wrong the place is nice but not that good. 1st off I ordered a chicken Shawarma, pita and Baba Ganoush, and walnut baklava. The chicken Shawarma was like a shredded chicken paste, tasty but the chicken was overcooked, or re-heated, and dry. The tomatoes were red but not ripe. The lettuce was fresh, crispy and tasty. The pita was excellent and the portions were reasonable. The sauce was excellent. I would give it a 3 over all. The Baba ganoush was full of seeds and had that old eggplant bitter flavor. not particularly pleasant. I would give it a 2.5 The Walnut Baklava was below average. not flavorful at all. hardly any honey. I would give it a 2. The presentation was excellent, the service was excellent, the checkout payment systems were excellent to accommodate ApplePay. The place was very clean and I felt welcome. Perhaps I am spoiled as I can only judge this by my experiences with the real things, especially the shawarma from Spain, but I would not recommend this place....
Read moreKhalas, we have found the best Gyro in Cincinnati. I went here recently after it was open for about a week. Was immediately greeted and helped with my order. They recommended starting with the classic lamb gyro on pita as the first thing I try. Let me tell you, it was excellent and not just for Cincinnati, but objectively delicious. The spices were near perfect and there was a perfect ratio of gyro meat to pita. I lived in Houston for a long time where there was no shortage of delicious Mediterranean food and this place could compete with any of them. To top it off, the service was quick! I had my gyro and greek salad in less than 5 minutes even though I watched them shave the gyro meat off the rotating broiler and cook it right in front of me. Next time I go back, I'll be trying the shawarma, fries, baklava and really anything else on the menu. I'm sure that it...
