Custard's Last Stand — Restaurant in Blue Springs

My family and I went there this evening, and it’s usually the only ice cream place we frequent because it’s really good. I look forward to the seasonal options that are offered. Tonight I wanted to try the carrot cake concrete, but the person taking my order wasn’t helpful. I needed to know if the cake had raisins in it, and she wasn’t 100% sure. I asked if she could look and she said it’s already cut up and that she wasn’t sure. I know they were busy but it wouldn’t have taken that long to look and see for me. I ended up ordering the strawberry shortcake one instead, and when i tasted it the pound cake taste stale and left a bad taste in my mouth. It was like it had been sitting out for a long time, I realized that after we already left. Was there for the 1st time a few nights ago and was kicked out of the establishment around 9:00pm. The guy said the lobby was closed but that we could sit outside. And the sign outside said you couldn't order outside and that you had to go inside to order, which we did, so which is it? Their brightly lit and hard to miss sign said they were open till 10:30 that night. Who knows how many other customers they kick out for the sake of not having customers in the lobby so the teenage staff can screw around and not have to work and just chat it up without customer ears nearby. Very unprofessional way to talk to paying customers and tell them to leave after they just paid and sat down to eat...

Ever since I discovered this place I have never gone anywhere else for frozen treats! (DQ Blizzards? Nah!). Custard is great because it has a lower freezing point so it doesn't numb your mouth the way ice cream can, and there are so many different options for concrete mixes (custard blended up with all sorts of goodies!). From cookie dough to espresso to cherries and more, there's pretty much something for everyone. Or you can always make your own! Plus they have cones, sundaes, and all sorts of other options if you're not feeling a concrete. Super nice to sit outside or mosey through the drive through.
