The Cigar Merchant — Local services in Blue Springs

I am very new to cigars and have many questions as well as small budget to get started with. I have bought cigars from this store before and had very pleasant conversations with the staff. As I am on a budget and new to the preservation of fine cigars I require some advise and mentoring. I met Benjamin 09/22/2014 and brought in a budget travel humidor needing Xikar solution and advise. What I received is a pompous jerk. I will likely never return to this store. I will drive the extra mileage to another establishment that does not require you to know everything or purchase only their items. I am understanding that he may have preferred I purchase from him but the fact is I did not. That fact some how banned me from gaining ANY advise on use of the fluid or humidity gel packs that I was purchasing. I am sad that someone with experience with cigars utterly refused to to help a newbie find and experience the world of cigars. If I could leave 0 stars I would . I went into the store to purchase an anniversary gift for my husband. I had my toddler son with me as I have no one to watch him while I run errands . Upon entering the store I was greeted with a disgusted look and a sarcastic can I help you. I told him I wanted to find something for my husband and then was told that because I didn't have anything specific that I wanted that I basically needed to take my child out. He beat around the bush and rudely said well they just changed the laws the bla bla bla but I don't have a problem with it. If you don't have a problem with it then why say anything at all. Instead he was rude unprofessional and lost out on a large sale considering I was willing to spend quite a bit of money and a long term customer. Stopped in to find a decent starter pipe, got a great Missouri Meerschaum cob for a decent price and a good tin of pipe tobacco to go along with it which I’m loving. The gentleman working was super helpful as well! Gonna have to try a cigar next time I stop by, looked like a great selection. UPDATE: if I could go above 5 stars I would. I’ve been getting more into cigars and they most helpful staff in any store I’ve been in and really seem to care about finding the right product for you.
