I have tried to give Johnny's multiple chances, but unfortunately this Blue Springs location is awful, which is sad because there aren't many sit down "family" style restaurants here. From the moment you walk in, hostesses are seldomly at the front to seat you. Servers hardly check on your tables, they're far too busy sitting down socializing at certain tables, bar, and in the back to even find and wave down. If you are pressed for time, especially during lunch time, this is definitely not the place to go, or you need to order in advance. The longer it's been open the worse it gets. The bathrooms are disgusting, I have noticed on multiple occasions the same gross stuff all over the handicap walls months apart. One time I was served raw chicken wings, very pink, there were tons of apologies and Management came out and told me they were getting me new ones. I wasn't exactly hungry after that and my family had pretty much finished all their meals by the time it was "corrected", the corrected wings were very overcooked. I visited Johnnys today and the server seemed bothered to have to work, not nice or friendly. The food was ok, it was actually hot today, brought out by a food runner and not our server. It took our server 20 minutes alone to come bring us our check. I watched her search for a pen for about 5 of those minutes. I don't know if it's an owner, management, or lack of quality employees, but as a whole...
Read moreI have been a fan and raved about JT for years but things have changed in the last few years. Used to go downtown but now frequent the Blue Springs location. For years I would get a Wedge Salad (WS) and the Johnny wings. I rarely do two dishes while dining but I loved this combination. Sadly sometime back JT changed their WS from a traditional plate to whatever it is today. The sliced tomatoes of odd color are Disappointing. The removal of blue cheese crumbles is just wrong, and I don't think you can add much more water to the dressing. The wedge is no longer a single wedge but some icebergs slipped on a plate. The bacon bits might be homemade but they are food processed to almost a powder, and burnt. And lastly they place multiple handfuls of burnt (or bad grease) onions that might be as much as 2 entire cups worth. A few days ago it was gross and the lettuce was brown. To make things worse my family ate an entire meal, and the waitress said maybe a dozen words TOTAL during our 40 minute presence. Not one word to ask why my salad was torn apart, without a bite taken, or if I wanted a box. JT has gone down hill and the environment did not give the opportunity to correct anything. So sad coming from a place that at one time probably should have given me a kickback for all the service I used to recommend to it. Can't do...
Read moreFirst visit. Placed online order to-go. A 1/2 hour time frame for pickup was given by the restaurant. Arrived 25 min later. The host station directed me to the bar for to-go pickups. The bar has 20+ chairs with 5-6 occupied. I stood at end of bar for long enough for the bar staff to see me but not acknowledge me. Moved closer and pulled out a VERY NOISY chair and she asked what I needed. A to-go order pickup please. She brought the ticket to sign it was prepaid $89 with a $15 tip, $104. In almost 2 years of lots of to-go orders, you'd think restaurants would figure out how to make what could have been decent food edible "to-go". One big brown bag, hot food, cold food, small condiments are thrown in, no utensils, no napkins. FRIED FOOD DUMPED IN A PLASTIC CONTAINER AND LID SHUT!! How do you think those fried pickles/rings turned out!! The food, that remained edible was bad bar food. Nothing special the aujou for the French dips was literally a step above brown water?? The salad was WARM, very unappetizing. Fries were cold and old. (Remember got there 5 minutes before order was due and three blocks to home after) All the staff was disinterested at best. It wasn't very busy, should have been a clue to...
