Had to lower my stars to 1, really wanted to give it a zero after my last visit. The hit or miss quality and service continues, but now it extends to the managers as well.
On my most recent visit I ordered a cheeseburger, with no aioli and add bacon. It arrived to the table and was covered in aioli. I tried to scrape it off, but it was taking the cheese off with it, to the point that there were literal holes in my american cheese. I broke the bacon into smaller pieces and flagged down a manager. I told him it was not supposed to have aioli on it and sent it back to be remade without aioli. 10 minutes later, the same manager brought my burger back and set it in front of me. I pulled off the bum to find the SAME BURGER AND BACON, no aioli. Someone had apparently just washed it up and slapped it back down with a new top bun. This is the only explanation for the curled up bacon in the same broken pieces I sent back to not have a spot of aioli on it when it had been in every nook and cranny of the bacon before. The burger was slimy and still had the cheese holes. Seriously? Is that even sanitary? I dropped the bun back down and told him "really? they washed it off? you can just have it back, I just won't eat, it's fine." He looked flabbergasted that I was upset and asked "what's wrong, it doesn't have aioli now." I told him "I don't want a slimy washed off burger with half the cheese missing, that's disgusting and I can't believe you would even allow that to happen."
He did finally have it remade, so I got to eat, but it's ridiculous when even management has such low standards in food preparation.
Updated review, see original below the line. TLDR: service is spotty, depending which server you get. Food is good. Lost stars because they are apparently also taking away steak soup now after already taking away the bread, the coffee and the hot tea. What are you doing corporate?
The food here is usually pretty good. Service can be spotty with some waitresses being fabulous and others terrible. Occasionally the chicken has been tough. Never had a problem with anything else we ordered. The atmosphere here is OK, it can get loud though if it's crowded. The "remodel" but had them closed for over a month is almost not noticeable, other than they lost the booths in the bar area in favor of shoving in more high tops there. I have a few favorite items that are my go to here and are always pretty safe: turkey club sandwich, burger, or the grilled chicken Caesar salad (don't let them use the mixed greens unless you want your salad to be almost all sprouts). Go to for the family or the steak soup and the potato soup
Edit: sitting down to eat here again, and just found out that in addition to already taking away the coffee, hot tea and bread service, now they are also removing steak soup from the menu. May not come back.
——————————————————-——- Servers are hit or miss. We were here twice the last 2 weeks; one server was great and the other was terrible. The terrible one never came to check on us- we had to send other servers to get her twice and we could see her standing in the back of the room poking on her cell phone and chatting/laughing with other servers. Enjoy your job, but please make sure you are actually still doing your job. The food is...

Ok...HOW do you improve on perfection? I'm not sure how you do it all so well but what ever your secret is, please keep it up! Seriously, my Chicken Fried Chicken dinner with cream gravy (offered on the side cuz I requested a lot), homemade coleslaw and substituted Texas toast instead of a dinner roll... was sooo good that I stopped talking completely. So good that I grabbed our waitress for a side of BBQ beans with ham chunks and it too, was heavenly! My taste buds were in TREAT mode. Truly, service, surroundings, food quality, cleanliness, and value for money were ALL 5*+. Noone in Blue Springs, Missouri does it better! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
*54TH STREET IS WHERE I CAN ALWAYS BE ASSURED OF RECEIVING EXCEPTIONALLY TASTING COMFORT FOOD EVERY TIME. *
FORMER posts: 2014: My family has been frequenting 54th for almost 10 years. Only a couple of times have we been disappointed. All in all that's an excellent record. Oh, and I've never witnessed any workers talking on cells or I would definitely say something to the manager. Update March 21, 2018. Tonight was an extraordinary treat at 54th. Our waiter, Jeb, who has served patrons there for 5 years, was exceptional. My BFF and I decided to split a Nachos Supreme. Not only did he have the kitchen split it for us, he made hers a chicken, mine a beef. Hers with jalapenos, mine without... on two separate plates, without any fuss. Service with a smile! When asked why he was so willing, he was quick to respond, "We gladly do whatever the customer wants, your happiness come first!" Wow, perfect! Our food came quickly and it was absolutely delicious! And their happy hour is not to be missed. We both devoured a wine/fruit drink which was out of this world... in a HUGE glass, for only $1.99. How do they do it? Lastly, Chris, the manager came to our table to ask if we were enjoying our meal. I explained I was a GOOGLE GUIDE and asked if he would use my phone to take pics of his awesome kitchen. Attached are the results. Folks, the people that serve at this restaurant are the best of the best when it comes to pleasing their patrons. Don't miss out on the opportunity of letting them treat you like a queen...
Read moreI hadn't been here in 2 years I used to come here to have their stuffed mushrooms and rattlesnake pasta which was always fire but then it just seem to go down hill.
My kiddos had an appointment and I was in need of a much needed brain break and self care. I sat at the bar. I was craving steak and shrimp with grilled onions and mushrooms. I normally would just cook that at home because I often times don't get the steak I like going out.
I can't say that anymore, this steak literally was one of the best steaks I've ever had to include my own.
I called over the manager Trent and explained to him how my expectations were low and how surprised and happy I was that they exceeded them.
I wanted him to find out who the chef was and express my gratitude. He came back and told me his name was Gabe.
I spent $48 on a big beer, steak and seafood with the Grilled vegetables and grilled onions and mushrooms to go on top my steak.
I requested medium rare with grilled shrimp and vegetables (asparagus, Brussel spouts, squash). Gabe cooked and seasoned everything perfectly. I added no seasoning.
My only comment about the service is after I got my beer and food I wasn't asked how my dinner was i.e. was my steak cooked properly or if I needed anything i.e. water (which I would have gladly accepted). That was shocking since you have one customer spending $50 on dinner. I still tipped %20.
The cherry on top was they recognized my military service with a discount and nowadays every little bit helps.
The lady next to me heard my gratitude and wished she had gotten the same. She didn't want to ruin the vibe but her chicken fried chicken was dry and that's hard to do with gravy. Her mashed potatoes were cold in the middle. I told her that if people don't give the bad with the good I don't get the perfect meal I did. So. I told her I would share it for her in hopes they accept the feedback.
I was in-and-out in an hour with the perfect meal thanks again Gabe I'll be back and I would highly recommend 54th Street in...
