Buchheit of Blue Springs — Local services in Blue Springs

We’ve always loved going to Buchheit. At least, since they’ve opened in Blue Springs. The prices are good and they are almost always stocked with what we need.

Recently, however, I’ve noticed the customer service at the registers has been terrible. The last time I was there, while two people on the work floor offered to help a couple of times (always appreciated) I stood at the register line for about five minutes while two cashiers were available (no other customers were waiting. They may have seen me, I’m not sure, but did not say a word as I stood and waited to be called on).

This is the first time it’s been this bad.

I have a daughter who applied to work there, and she went by on two occasions, as well as called to see if the manager had a chance to look at her application (this was her first job, and she was a little over zealous). Each time she was told the manager wasn’t available, but would call her back. She never heard back from the store and...

Overall, it has a good selection of products and prices. The bad, I only saw 3 employees, and they were all up front. There was a line to check out, and only one person checked people out, and the other two just ignored the line.

There was a big pile of sunflower seeds in the middle of the floor with no one around (safety hazard for customers!). One of the bins of live baby ducks had no water whatsoever and had been out for a while because the bedding in the bowl was even dry. One baby was on its back like it was dying, so I flipped it over.

When we told the person running the cash register about the ducks and seeds, she just said, "Well, I just told someone to work the duck area", ok then, poor baby ducks!

This was only from the front door to the chicken food area. We didn't even look around the whole store. If that was found in just that area, I wonder how the rest of the store was. I'm just worried about the...

Like the store, some of the employees not so much. I have twice been there and seen a yelling argument between a clerk and customer. Today I waited in line behind someone being signed up for buyers club. I had several bags of grain and it was obvious I was trying to pay. After signing up the man, the clerk walked off without a word. The second clerk that had been standing there talking to the first clerk said, you can go to that register over there. She can help you. So why didn't you all tell me that before I waited in your line for...
