Updating my review : last night I went and ordered two bowls and hardly got any meat in them. It was basically just a bowl full of rice and sauce. They only put 3 pieces of meat in each bowl. What a ripoff and definitely not coming back. The younger Haitian guy made the bowl and everything just tasted gross and disgusting. This is the end of a good era but I can’t stand restaurants that are not consistent..
This is definitely my go to Indian Restaurant when I'm in the Boca area. I’m very glad to have found it earlier this year in my search for wanting good Indian food without breaking my pockets.. I also like the concept of Indian fast food. It’s a great idea !!
The restaurant is very clean and modern on the inside. The staff have always been very nice. Not rude or sketchy like some of the other Indian restaurants. I just love coming here. I usually get the rice bowls because I like that you can choose the different toppings to put on them. It’s another unique idea.
My only complaint would be the way that the pricing is set up for the tacos. They charge $10.99 for two tacos and $12.99 for 3 tacos and that’s without the naan bread.
The other option that they give you, would be the roti which is no extra charge, but they Charge an additional $2 per taco if you get the naan Taco.. So it comes out to be almost $7 for each taco for two , and about $6 each taco for 3. Just seems like highway robbery to me. Probably some of the most expensive tacos that I’ve eaten. Plus the last time that I came I tried the Tikka masala entrée because I was hoping that I would get more chicken versus what I get when I get the rice bowl.
I ended up getting almost the same amount of chicken that I get when I get the rice bowl but just for $5 dollars more. It wasn’t worth it. So now I’m just sticking to getting the rice bowls again. Tikka Masala is the best thing that I’ve had so far. The curry chicken wasn’t really curry chicken in my opinion and the Lamb could definitely use some work. It didn’t really have those authentic Indian spices and flavor that I was hoping for. Either way, the food is still delicious and it’s definitely a must try if you’re...
Read moreWOW just WOW, this place is a winner. I should pre-empt this review by saying I absolutely love Indian food and could literally eat it for breakfast, lunch & dinner so I am really delighted to have found an excellent new Indian eatery.
This is a casual type place so if you are looking for an elegant dining option this is perhaps not it. That being said the decor is modern, light and inviting and in particular mention must be made of the cleanliness throughout, including the bathrooms which for me are always a telltale indication about a restaurant.
We enjoyed our food so much that we actually had lunch there two days in a row. The experience was also enhanced on both occasions by Mohammed, who greets you with a smiling face at the counter, ready to guide you on choices and combinations.
We chose the lunch specials on both visits, but the menus is large and options many. The lunch special seems to average at around $15 which includes a choice of 2 entrees, rice, toppings, sauces, naan bread and a dessert. There are abundant choices for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores and the flavors were pretty authentic.
I also enjoyed the fact that they serve the food in plant based containers although they do seem to get a little ‘soft’ after a while.
There is really nothing to criticize about Arun’s, except that I wish they had more locations! The quality of the food is excellent, the service is as good as the food and also quick in terms of preparation, especially if you are doing takeout which we did on second time and the pricing is very fair.
I totally recommend and will...
Read moreThe first Arun's Kitchen opened in 2009 in Coral Spring. Originally called Indian Kitchen someone made a Yelp listing for the business calling it Arun's Indian Kitchen after Chef Arun Sareen who is from northern India. As the rave reviews poured in the name stuck. The Lauderhill location open next followed by this Boca restaurant in the 5th Avenue Shops that opened in August of 2021.
I have previously dined at and loved the Coral Springs location. I was shopping at lunch time when I found myself in front of the Boca restaurant. As soon as I opened the door and was enveloped in the delicious smell of spices I knew I made the right choice for lunch. The restaurant is fast casual counter service. You order at the register and they give you a buzzer that will go off when your food is ready. Everything is cooked to order. Tell them how spicy you want your food and they will customize it accordingly. Grab a drink from the cooler, my choice a Jarritos pineapple soda, and sit back and relax as the magic happens in the kitchen.
I ordered the Chicken Korma ($15.49), Tender chicken cubes are cooked in a rich cashew based sauce. It is generally served sweet with almonds, coconut, and raisins. This is a good choice if you are not into hot spice. It comes with a small bowl of jasmine rice. Make sure to order the garlic naan ($2.75). You will want it to soak every spec of the delectable sauce.
We are so lucky Chef Arun decided to come to south Florida. You can't go wrong here. Stop by to indulge in the delicious aromas and...
