From the moment you walk up the charming, lantern-lit pathway to Chili Crab, you know you’re in for something special. The twinkling lights gently guide you toward an experience that feels like a hidden corner of Hong Kong right here in Boca Raton. Once inside, you’re instantly transported—the decor is impeccable, striking the perfect balance between modern elegance and the cozy authenticity of a cha chaan teng or sai chaan teng. It’s clear that every detail, from the textures on the walls to the warm, inviting lighting, was thoughtfully curated.
The bilingual menu—presented in both English and Chinese—is a wonderful touch that adds to the cultural richness of the experience. We started our evening with the Fiji Apple Martini and the Lychee Martini. Both were deliciously balanced and surprisingly strong—a great start to the meal.
Appetizers included the crispy, golden scallion pancakes, savory soup dumplings and flavorful lobster dumplings. Each dish was expertly prepared and packed with authentic flavor.
For our main course, we ordered the iconic Peking Duck (half), served with delicate pancakes. One of the highlights of the evening was watching the duck expertly carved on a cutting board—an artful presentation that added a touch of ceremony to the meal. We also shared a plate of roasted pork fried rice, which was rich and satisfying. (The only thing I’d tweak would be to have the onions chopped a bit finer for better texture.)
To top off the meal, we indulged in the candied banana with vanilla ice cream—a perfect combination of warm, crispy sweetness and cool, creamy smoothness.
Throughout the meal, the service was attentive and genuine. The owner personally came out from the kitchen to check on us, which added such a warm and welcoming touch. I believe his son may have been tending bar—either way, it’s clear that this is a family-run establishment where pride and passion shine through.
The presence of a live seafood tank, showcasing fresh crabs and other seafood, is another sign of the restaurant’s commitment to quality and freshness.
All in all, this was a five-out-of-five-star experience. We’ll absolutely be returning—and bringing friends next time. Chili Crab is a true gem in Boca Raton, offering not just a meal, but a memorable...
Read moreOMG, it was the WORST FOOD i ever ate in Boca, even worse than Crackle Barrel. Look at the owners response. That already tells you the quality of the place. He doesnt even understand when this review was written & updated. He is a moron thinking that we went there during the last 2 mo's. We went there a few months ago due to a friend's recommendation. We also took 2 other friends w/us. Good Lord what a huge mistake. To start w/the place looks very run down n filthy. Thx God we sat outside. Even though w/all the traffic & train noise & mosquito bites, it was still better to be outside than inside. We had soft shell crab, 2 kinds of gyoza, some kind of shrimp, fried alligator and their signature Peking duck. Our bill ended up over $400. All the food could have gone to the trash. Each one was worse than the other. We really tried to eat, we were almost indenial but the truth is every single dish was just horrible. Gyozas were made from frozen wasnt even warm enough inside, alligator meat was so chewy that i couldnt swallow and had to spit it out, they took it off the bill, hurray! Soft shell crab was so bad, just covered w/batter, thick as a dinasor skin. The cooked duck i buy from Costco & brown it in the oven is 1000x better than the duck we had. Even the bowl of white rice tasted & felt like left over from the day before. If i had the power i would make sure to shut that restaurant down today. Anyone eats there and likes the food must be out of their mind. It was nothing but disgusting. I wouldnt let my dog eat it. Dont even drive by that place let alone going inside to eat. Poor waitress was very nice thats why i left a decent tip, otherwise i wouldnt even give $1. DO NOT GO...
Read moreChili Crab has been by far the worst eating experience I have had in Boca Raton ever! The server was biased and made disrespectful comments and at times threw our table utensils towards us, he ignored us several times and refused to close us out, he purposely placed our order wrong and had no problems coming out 45 minutes later to inform us that the Lamb was not on the menu that we had also ordered. The crab we ordered was fried to the core and old and not in season not clean properly and was rushed and the worst part was the food was cold. The owner grazed through with a smile not able to see that one server was ruining the whole experience. The staff that was non-Asian seemed to be working a job and not caring making racial comments and not handling guess accordingly that same waiter then made remarks about my mask pushing his own personal political agenda. I would have loved to see more Asian influence incorporated and received better service the ambiance was fine, and the soft jazz music was great, especially given what we were enduring. My partner and I quickly received our food, paid, and left I didn’t even care to bring up the fact our waiter was rude biased, and failed to place our order correctly not to mention give thorough explanations of the menu items. Will not be returning and cannot recommend Chili Crab in Boca to anyone! Please be mindful of your audience and be careful whom you mistreat you never know who you may be serving to treat all people with respect and handle food with care this goes...
