Well despite the not so great reviews on this place I decided to try it since I was already parked in that plaza. Let me start by saying the place is nice and has a decent atmosphere. The help is really friendly the prices are fair. Some of the reviews I'm here say that they give you no food well I got the six bowl and was full when I left.
Now for what I think of Fresh Kitchen. I thought the food looked good and I got the sweet potato noodles, the pesto chicken, and the almond chicken. What I thought immediately was is all of the chicken was overcooked and dry. To me that is an amateur mistake. Even more so one piece would be good the next piece will be dry which to me is inconsistent. Also I thought that the flavors of things were off. I mean the sesame Green beans didn't really taste like sesame to me and not to mention they were way undercooked and I can tell they have been sitting around. The Parmesan broccoli was pretty good but it also was off on flavor just didn't really taste the way Parmesan broccoli should. The sauce that I got to put on top was coconut sauce recommended by the checkout girl. It also had a strange flavor. I always keep an open mind when I go to places for the first time and I don't just leave negative type reviews I leave positive ones when they deserved as well. What I think is edit time where Bowl restaurants are popping up everywhere you have to be BETTER. I do not think that fresh kitchen was BETTER at all. The next question I ask myself is would i come back to this place? In the beginning I said I would give it another shot but by the end of my meal it was clear that I would not be returning to Fresh Kitchen. On top of the food of being mediocre one huge turn off for me is there was MULTIPLE FLIES in the restaurant and I ABSOLUTELY HATE THAT. Totally gross and that alone would make me not return.
As for me I like to think that I know what I'm talking about… After all I've been cooking for 30+ years and I'm currently a food blogger. I'm not trying to be hard on this place I'm just being honest.
Next time im craving a BOWL type meal ill drive the extra mile and hit Bolay instead and in the near future they are opening Beehive Kitchen across the street from my house and i will probably...
Read moreThe food is AMAZING! it's all freshly made and keeps coming out! Pick your base like lettuce, spinach or 2 Kale salad bases, pick your sides baked sweet potatoes (yummy), sting beans, chickpeas, etc, pick a rice like spiced cauliflower rice and many many more. Pick your protein/proteins the steak is fresh and cooked medium they have 2 different kinds of chicken blacked, baked sesame, salmon then pick toppings like guacamole, tomatoes, cucumbers and more then pick a dressing they have over 6 kinds. The food all has great flavor. You can go for mild or some spicy. The thing that really sets this place apart is that the staff their is so friendly they are happy to answer your questions as you go down the build your bowl options. They actually seem happy. So it's kinda a like a contagious happy they're. They have tables, bar hight seating, and plenty of outside seating. Oh the drinks are great! I had the dragonfruit lemonade it's natural so not filled with sugar which is great the taste was amazing! They have over 5 choices in home made teas/lemonades. It's self serve for drinks. So taste if you don't like taste anther. I love the food I get 1 protein and normally the sesame baked chicken as my protein. When I leave I feel like I ate health wise but without losing all the great flavors of the different foods. I promise you won't regret it. GO FOR IT...
Read moreI like the food, but for the past couple of months (or more) I feel like the food is OVER SALTED.. (kale caesar, Almond chicken (the breading of it), sweet potato (it doesnt need salt, c’mon) salmon, the holy Kale dressing and cauliflower mash are extra salty…) Dont mistake seasoning for salt, pay attention to it, because too much salt is not healthy anymore. People that like extra salt can add after, and deal with high blood pressure later. I’m healthy and like heathy food, but I couldn’t eat FK 2 days in a roll due to the extra Salt in the food. Last time i said to myself i wouldnt go back, but i decided to give it a try again today, but, no luck, still the same.. So, i won’t be getting FK anytime soon now. And i know i’m just 1 person that buys 2-4 bowls every time, but you might be losing more customers for this reason and you don’t know it (took me a while to write this). Customer service has improved since last year, but that would be a review for another day. I really hope i can update this review and give it a 5...
