First time here and was highly disappointed. Beautiful decor, but that's it. First off, it was a nice day so we walked through the patio hoping to be seated there after reading a chalkboard that we thought said patio only all other seating inside. It's a little before 7pm. The bartender outside said no, the sign means patio bar only all seating inside. We apologized saying we must have misread the sign as it was only a brief glance and she proceeds to rudely say, "I would know what it says since I'm the one that wrote it" at which point my fiance heads inside to go request seating. Another person from inside walks out and goes may I help you and we say someone from our group went inside to request outdoor seating. She then says they are short-handed and there is a bit of a wait for outdoor seating so we figured we would sit inside instead if that is the case. They sat us immediately. The server came by a few minutes later to take our drink order. Then we tell her we are ready to order. We order. Our appetizer comes out. The stuffed zucchini is delish! Thirty minutes later, nothing else has arrived. 50 minutes later, still nothing. A table is seated behind us. 1 hour and 15 minutes in our entrees come out. We ordered 2 medium rare new york steaks and they come out medium well (pictured). The short ribs were good. We tell the waitress about our steaks and she says what would you like for us to do? If they remake it, it's going to take just as long. Our friend keeps his and we send ours back telling her to please try and get it out quicker as we waited over an hour for our first steak. Meanwhile, I turn around and see the table behind me devouring their steak cooked just right. Within thirty minutes of being seated (pictured in my photos).. Hmm, quite strange why we waited so long for imperfect steak the first time. 15 minutes later our steak comes out and it's cooked right this time (pictured). We take a few bites and then ask for boxes (as it's now almost 1.5 hours later) and the bill and the waitress tries to push dessert on us. We decline and state we've waited long enough already. She brings us boxes and we pass her our credit card. She says again but don't you want dessert? We say no thanks as we have somewhere to be. She apologizes. Then brings us the bill. My fiance briefly glances at it and was almost deceived into believing they comped his steak and was going to leave a bigger gratuity because of it, but then he realizes they were just comping the steak they added on to be re-made. Terrible! Not that we were expecting a free meal, but after waiting for so long and them admitting they made a mistake, a manager should of at least come out and said something. Not a great experience! Funniest thing is their to go box says, "we sincerely appreciate your business and look forward to your next visit." Didn't...
Read moreWe had our holiday luncheon here on 12/07/2018, and this was a good selection, Burton's located in the park place shopping center in Boca, plenty of good parking within the shopping center. The reception at the door is inviting and warm, the hostess asked if we'd like to wait until the whole party was there or we could be seated, and she would accompany anyone coming in after to where we were seated, great customer service by the hostess. We had a party of 12 and our waitress was pro at it(kudos to her), she took all drink order's and was quick with bringing them out and brought exactly what everyone ordered, we took some time to look over the menus as they have customized menu choices to accommodate any dietary needs or wants such as gluten, vegetarian, and paleo this was very impressive to me that they would offer that kind of menu variety. In the meantime, we ordered some appetizers the philly spring rolls and the general tso's cauliflower both came with some delicious dipping sauces a spicy ketchup for the spring rolls and a ginger aioli for the cauliflower the ginger was very mild and not robust, it was just right. waitress came to take our food order's and for a party of 12 the food came out in a very timely manner and again the waitress was a pro she got all order's correct. I ordered the short rib grilled cheese with onion straws, it was delicious beef was tender and to me the pickled onions and maple sriracha made the sandwich the onion straws could have been cooked more because those came out soggy and limp, ate a few of them and they were good, I also tasted tested a few of my co-workers meals and another big rave for me was the roasted beet salad with goat cheese, candied walnuts and mustard vinaigrette. I ordered the key lime pie for dessert and their key lime pie missed the mark entirely this was probably one of the worst, the graham cracker crust was dry and no flavor and there was a cream on top of the key lime which I didn’t find necessary to put on the pie. All in all I am a fan and will be going back outside of work to experience...
Read moreJust had dinner at Burton’s with my dad, and while we were excited to return after a while, the experience was pretty disappointing. I’m sharing this because I’d hate for other locals to have the same experience.
From the start, things were off. The hostess stand was chaotic, and no one seemed to know what they were doing. We were told our table was ready, but then the staff just stood there looking confused. Eventually, a manager stepped in to seat us after realizing the team was struggling. lol she was even like — I don’t know why they are confused.
We were initially seated at a broken bench but were then moved. Our server, Mya, started off great, but she disappeared after bringing our food. We waited over 20 minutes after finishing, and she was MIA for at least 40 minutes. We never saw her again since she dropped off her food.
My sister is a server, and my family usually tips generously, so we still left Mya a 20% tip despite the experience. Unfortunately, my chicken was nearly inedible—full of fat and cartilage and all rubbery. When another staff member noticed I hadn’t eaten much, she asked if I wanted a to-go box. I politely mentioned that I hadn’t eaten more because the chicken was tough, and she said she’d inform the chef but never came back. lol
Eventually, after waiting even longer, my dad asked if anyone could check on Mya, and she finally reappeared without acknowledging the delay or asking about our food……
Adding to the frustration, someone brought a non-service dog, and the staff at the entrance were petting it, which felt unprofessional in a dining setting. Overall, it was one thing after another, and unfortunately, the evening fell short of our expectations.
I hope the staff can improve their service, as this wasn’t the experience we were hoping for. My dad and I rarely get time together so it sucks this was our experience tonight. I told my dad we should have just gone to Prezzo instead. Sorry, Burton’s, but just being...
