Japanese Bocce Club feels like a concept in search of an identity. It’s giving “diner meets Japanese fusion” with a splash of forced spice, but unfortunately, it just doesn’t deliver where it counts—flavor. The spicy cucumber salad? Surprisingly good. But the chopped baby gem was a hard pass—interesting idea, not so great execution. The sushi was forgettable, and the kids’ chicken teriyaki came with a grand total of three tiny slices. (Come on, even kids know when they’re getting shortchanged.) The highlight was the wagyu beef skewers, but even those tasted more broiled than grilled, which felt like a missed opportunity for something truly special. The staff is friendly and the indoor atmosphere is decent, while the bocce ball outside adds a fun twist—but sadly, the overall experience just didn’t live up to the hype. For a spot tied to the Boca Raton Hotel, it should (and could) be doing a lot better.

Service was great, but that’s expected as it’s located inside the Boca Raton resort. Food is also great. Chefs tasting which includes one roll and 7 pieces of nigiri if I’m remembering correctly was delicious. Only downside was us coming earlier than our reservation and the table not being ready, but I can’t fault the restaurant on that. The hostess did have us go to the bar which was a blessing in disguise, because the wine selection is pretty nice here.

I recently had a frustrating experience at BOCCE, the Japanese restaurant at the Boca Hotel, that I feel needs to be addressed. After booking a reservation for a party of eight months in advance, we arrived only to find that the reservation had been incorrectly noted for the following day. To make matters worse, the staff informed us that the next available seating was not until 9 PM, which was completely impractical, especially with four young children in tow.

After waiting about 15 minutes, one of the men in our group approached the staff to inquire about our situation. Miraculously, they suddenly found a way to accommodate his request for a 7:30 reservation. It was disheartening to see how quickly they were able to resolve the issue for him while we, as a party with children, were left in limbo.

This experience felt discriminatory, as it seemed our needs were overlooked simply because I was the one asking. Given that BOCCE is marketed as a family-friendly restaurant, this was particularly disappointing. Instead of enjoying our planned dinner there, we ultimately left and found a wonderful Italian restaurant off-site, where we were treated with respect and courtesy.

I expected much more from BOCCE, and I can't recommend it based on this experience. Families deserve better, especially at a resort that claims to...

If I could give zero stars I would. We went on "members" night with our young son and grandmother There was no one to greet us. We were sat at a table near the bar. Everyone was wearing workout clothes hats and sneakers and they were all loud and obnoxious and drunk. The food was sub par the steak was tough and very fatty the sushi was borderline gas station sushi. The amuse bouche was a room temp piece of salmon that tasted terrible. You could not have a conversation it was extremely loud. The waiter apologized for the inconveniences Upon leaving a woman at the bar verbally attacked my 86 year old mother because she literally said God Bless You..they were screaming we are members too and don't shun our happiness..I stepped in because the staff was completely oblivious..this was not happiness this was alcholism and repressed anger. Does anyone have any values or morals anymore?!!? The entire experience was so very disappointing. I keep giving this reaort another chance and I am constantly disappointed. We are owed an apology at...
