Update: 4 years later.. I gave them 2 additional stars for the waiter/bartender being so amazing. He was the only positive. The manager and director who were acting as hosts were not even capable of stopping their personal conversation to seat us. Food is meh. Of course the view is still amazing..
My rating is based alone on the bartender today. I'm a retired restaurant employee. ;) NOTHING aggravates me more than a female bartender who dismisses women at the bar. First, let me say that my friend was staying at the hotel because she's having work done on her house. This particular bartender was aware my friend was a guest because she ordered prior to my arrival and started a tab to her room. I joined my friend and her family for an evening of happy hour and celebration for end-of-school exams. Moving forward... my girlfriend and I were standing at the bar with her child awaiting service. The bar was quiet with a total of 3 people. There were a couple occupied tables and a few people by the pool. We were waiting approximately 5 minutes when a man approached the bar. The female bartender went to attend the man when he said we were first. She replied to him that it was okay we wait and was awaiting his response. He declined and she finally took our order. I requested a virgin daiquiri but she told me she could not fix the drink for us because the washer was broken and she was unable to clean the blender to make my son his drink. Now we are talking about a waterfront bar/ restaurant, in a hotel, in a luxury part of town. Where is the accommodation? But quite honestly, I had lost interest after she tended to the gentleman before us. She has no idea that we are locals/a guest of the hotel. If I want a water view, there are plenty of places to the north and south where the...

Upon check in at the hostess stand we opted to wait for a table near the water, we let the hostess know we would get a drink at the bar while we waited, we were told there was 1 party ahead of us. After we watched 2 tables by the water get up, cleaned and then sat again, we approached the hostess who said she didn't know we were still there. The manager, or someone who I am assuming was higher up got involved as yet another table got up, I requested to be sat there and the hostess agreed and walked over to start clearing the table while the manager told us that he planned on giving the table to someone else, showed us another table and basically said it take it or leave it.
Our waiter was no better, zero personality and never once smiled, at some point he was gone for so long we had to go to the bar and get drinks ourselves.
All 3 people in my party ordered the blackened fish tacos based on our waiter's recommendation, we requested truffle fries instead of regular fries. The tacos were nothing more than a burnt tortilla with a few pieces of fish which was not blackened. It was pathetic looking. A side or corn/bean salsa and a side or what the called 'limey cilantro crema' however, this was more like 99.9% sour cream and a few leaves of cilantro. I complained about the fact that the fish was not blackened, it was taken back and I got what now looked like deep fried fish, however, no still sign of it being blackened. The limes served on the side where dry as rocks.
After the whole fiasco with the food none of us realized that we never even got our french fries at all! A...
Read moreIt's probably best to go somewhere else. The taste of the sweet white wine ordered for my girlfriend was so bad (like salt water/not sweet) that the server brought another to taste (which was worse) and then another to taste (which was even worse than the first two). This should have been no problem, but then he tried to charge for it. OK, then the $35 small piece of Mahi Mahi fish in a bag was relatively tasteless, but instead of sending it back, I mistakenly said "wrap it and we would take it home for someone else to try to enjoy". The server (David) listened carefully to my girlfriend, but did not hear me apparently. Then David offered a dessert (in consolation I thought) which we did not even want. But we just wanted to leave and find some food (really, any food at that point). When the bill came, I was also charged for the $17 giant dessert. We tried to wash down the bad taste of the wine with diet coke, and then we left. I will never return. This is a sad story because through the many years, I have had many many relaxed times at that location (prior to their renovations and apparent changes...
