I have been a member of The Boca Raton Club for a number of years. My dinner last night was not enjoyable.
They brought my girlfriend her appetizer but never brought mine until I asked for it 10 minutes after she was finished.
Then they brought my main course, but they never brought her main course until I asked for it. By the time they decided to cook her salmon, my steak was, of course, cold. And I'll get into the steak in a moment.
They were so screwed up.
It's so disappointing and embarrassing as well. I live 500 feet away on the grounds of The Boca Raton, and I can't even go to this restaurant again because it's just not good. They are rookies!! It isn't very comfortable.
PRINCIPESSA have a 3.9 rating at a five star hotel? Are you kidding me? I never go to a 3.9 rated restaurant. Ever! They should close this place up and start again. Get new management and fix it.
The ribeye steak looks like a minute steak. Terrible!
1000 feet away, Boca Raton has several fantastic five-star restaurants. If you are a tourist and staying at the hotel, go to a good restaurant. PRINCIPESSA isn't one of them, and I hate to say it. I really do. Just go to Palmetto Road and take your choice of wonderful restaurants.
And I have to say this again to the Boca Raton management. You are a five star hotel what the heck are you doing with a restaurant with a 3.9 rating in it? Below average. Below par. You'd actually have to look HARD to find a 3.9 restaurant in Boca Raton. Read the reviews here. A lot of them say the same things and you continue to ignore. Obviously The Boca Raton and PRINCIPESSA won't fix it because it keeps falling on deaf ears. Wake up! this is inexcusable in a five star resort! Open your eyes, please! I don't want you to fail, but I can never go to your restaurant again because you guys simply don’t care. What is your answer to having a 3.9 rating? Do you really think it's acceptable?
In Boca, you actually have to go out of your way to find a restaurant with that low rating. when are you gonna fix it? Do you ever expect me to come again? And just a footnote this is the second time that I've had a bad experience there. And then I didn't go there for another year or more hoping that it would be better. What an idiot I am!!
I really hate to put up a bad review. But you guys need to get your act together. There were 12 customers in the restaurant and they couldn't even serve us correctly? They couldn't even get the order right!
So the only thing I can do is post this to alert other people. Tell other people. And I'd rather tell them it was a wonderful experience, but I have no choice. other than to tell them it it was a horrible experience. And as you read other reviews, you will see that I am right on target and they just don't care.
i'm sure they could care less about this review just like they cared less about the other reviews because they never fixed anything. They...
Read morePrincipessa Ristorante is a beautiful spot inside the Boca Raton, with polished indoor seating and a stunning outdoor patio overlooking the marina and yachts. I’ve dined both inside and out, and the setting is impressive either way. Service was excellent; Alex took great care of us.
The food was good, though not quite on the level you’d expect from such a grand location. The grilled Spanish lobster 🦞 was the standout of the night, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Peroni on draft is always appreciated, and the salads topped with shaved parmigiana were fresh and well done. The grilled octopus 🐙 was flavorful but a bit too chewy.
The spicy pasta with rock shrimp 🍤 was the only real miss. It tasted like a spicy red sauce tossed over kid-style pasta with tiny shrimp. It didn’t match the elegance of the rest of the menu.
That said, the bread basket was very good, the fingerling potatoes were especially crispy and seasoned well, and the cappuccino at the end was smooth and satisfying.
Overall, it’s a lovely place with thoughtful service and a few standout dishes, but the food doesn’t always match the upscale feel. Go for the view and the lobster, and maybe skip the...
Read moreFire the manager, give the chefs and wait staff raises. I’m only giving two stars, otherwise no stars, because the food was excellent and the waitstaff really tried. Showed up on time for a 6:45 reservation. No table. Wrong telephone number in the system, no assistance in finding a place at the bar. Went to another bar on property, table available at 7:05. Three different waitstaff offer us water, drop off menus. 7:20, order taken, a bottle of wine ordered. Apps dropped at 7:35, no wine. 7:40, waiter explains somm “is looking for bottle.” I ask for something similar from somm. Somm never shows up, but a decent bottle of Gavi di Gavi shows up at 7:50, apparently no Puligny- Montrachet. Mains dropped at 8:10. Really good Branzino, polenta, shrimp scampi decent but cold. At 8: 30 desert menus offered. Gave up. Paid and left. No visit from the manager, no explanation, no offer of any compensation, but we did see the manager flirting with the front desk staff on the way out. Sad, because every other experience at the resort and other restaurants on property were...
