Kasumi at the Waterstone Hotel: Boca’s New Japanese Gem After eagerly anticipating Kasumi’s opening for over a year, we’re thrilled to say it was well worth the wait. The ambiance is elegant and tasteful, with a minimalist aesthetic that feels both sophisticated and inviting. The teak wood chairs are beautifully crafted, though the backs could be a bit more comfortable. We chose to dine outside on the patio, where the setting near the water was picturesque, and we’re already planning to enjoy their cozy fire pit next time.
The attention to detail extends to the table settings, which are as beautiful as the food they complement. Even the wine glasses impressed—a rare but welcome touch. It’s clear the team put a lot of thought into creating a refined, visually appealing experience.
We started with a variety of appetizers, expertly recommended by our server, Sebastian, whose knowledge of the menu and attention to detail were exceptional. We tried the Kumamoto oysters, Wagyu Beef Gyoza, BBQ Pork Belly, Toro Tuna Tartare, and two Maki hand rolls—the Shrimp Tempura and the Tres Amigos. Each dish was artfully presented and absolutely delicious. Jennifer, another staff member, also helped us adjust the outdoor lighting to set the perfect mood, though a bit more lighting outside would be a great addition.
Kasumi brings a touch of class to Boca, and our dining experience was outstanding. We can’t wait to return. If you’re looking for a blend of fine Japanese cuisine, attentive service, and a beautifully curated atmosphere by the water, Kasumi is...
Read moreI recently dined at Kasumi, and it was truly an unforgettable experience that set a new standard for sushi dining. Having visited multiple Michelin-star sushi restaurants in the past, I can confidently say that Kasumi exceeded my expectations and even outshined many of them.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and the service was impeccable. Our server, Jamica, was hands down the best server I've ever had anywhere. Incredibly knowledgeable, Jamica's passion for the craft shone through as she guided us through the menu with spot-on recommendations. Every suggestion was a masterpiece, making the experience feel personalized and exceptional.
The management at Kasumi is clearly doing everything right. Their attention to detail and the seamless coordination in the dining room made for a smooth, delightful visit. However, the true star was the preparation of the fish—absolutely worthy of a Michelin star. The artistry in the presentation and the balance of flavors were impeccable.
The sea bass nigiri, otoro, uni, and eel nigiri were the best I've ever had. Each bite was a testament to the chef’s dedication to perfection, showcasing delicate textures and vibrant, fresh flavors that melted in the mouth.
This place left such an impression that I've already decided to come back for our first wedding anniversary—it’s that phenomenal. If you’re looking for a sushi experience that rivals and even surpasses top-tier Michelin star establishments, Kasumi is the...
Read moreTruly an incredible place. From the waterfront views and thoughtful culinary creations, I couldn’t recommend it enough. It’s hard to find a restaurant in the area that offers both good views and amazing food, and Kasumi checks both boxes. The amount of thought and detail that went into each plate, cocktail and interior design element truly shows. I came for Happy Hour (offered Tuesday-Friday, 5-7pm) and was blown away by the full-sized dishes and large variety of options to choose from. We came super hungry and tried almost everything on the menu because it looked so good, which worked out since everything was very shareable. The nigiri was phenomenal and literally melted in my mouth paired with the best house-made spicy mayo I’ve ever tasted; my only regret is not asking for a gallon of it to take home. The Grilled s Shishito Peppers (dunked in the spicy mayo too of course) and Wagyu Beef Gyozas made the perfect appetizers and the Teriyaki Glazed Salmon, Short Rib Fried Rice and Chicken Kushi Katsu stole the show - I think those were the best renditions of these dishes I’ve ever had all for a Happy Hour price. Don’t miss the cocktails as well, which are also discounted; the Cherry Blossom Old Fashioned and Nashi Mule were expertly crafted, all made with fresh house made syrups and with unique twists. Although not part of Happy Hour, we treated ourselves to most delicious chocolate mousse and ganache dessert that I’m still drooling over. I will be...
