The lovely decor of the cafe is unfortunately a veneer to hide the ugly face of management there.
We were a group of 6 who ordered food and were going to do a little craft at the table. However, the worker informed me that they close at 7, despite their Google hours saying 8, and I asked if it was possible for us to stay a little later.
The management lady Katy called me and, not only did she not apologize about the error on the Google hours, but tried guilting me to pay THEM money for being there doing a craft. I asked why that would be when any (respectable) cafe is open space for people to purchase and hang out with each other, and she insisted it was an "event" that needed to be paid for.
Seeing the scheme, I told her we'll be out of their hair afterward and move away. However, the barista was working alone that day and took longer to serve our food, and we decided to craft in the meantime. The manager Katy then proceeds to harass me with several calls during our hangout. I answer and she complains how the owner is mad about this situation and really wished I paid for it. Wondering why I keep getting harassed about this, I informed her we'll be leaving as soon as we've eaten.
After we had received our food and eaten, it was 7:30. As we wrap up to leave, the worker says the manager wanted to have a word with me. Katy then approaches me and complains once again about the situation, and hopes I "understand" I can't do a class there. I nod and once again tell her nicely that we are simply hanging out and purchasing their food. She then ironically says, and I quote, "I feel like you're not listening to me respectfully." She expresses the cafe doesn't want to "associated" with "events" that aren't paid, and I flatly told her, "Oh, don't worry. We'll never be coming back," and left.
The only reason I leave 2 stars is because the worker was very sweet and the food and decor was good. However, Harvest Patio clearly does not want business and its management harasses its customers to shame them for money. Unless there's a change in management, I highly recommend...
Read moreLife is gumbo. One group of ingredients aromatically exude love, light and happiness when stirred. Another provides the necessary balance and gives life’s dish its grit….develops its character and sometimes exhibits the dark deep spicy flavorfulness that we often interpret as pain. The third set of ingredients are present and necessary but subdued in nature as to let the others do what they do best. The Harvest Patio in the Boca Raton Town Center Mall is the light. It is the escape. It is the calm amidst the malls chaos. It is an essential ingredient!
Visually it just draws you in like mamas open arms. The plethora of pretty potted plants, the serene water fountain, the zen seating spaces and the soul soothing musical backdrop provides a patron with all they need to unwind. Just when you think you’ve felt the full effect….take a gander upwards and notice the perfectly positioned skylight allowing the Boca sun to dance on everythings angles.
The staff is friendly and informative which is important to match the ambiance. I asked about the tea options and voila! ..The #Rishi flavors get presented to you like a fine wine. Feels pretty damn good so now it’s only appropriate to say “Pass the Grey Poupon ”. They also have an assortment of coffee drinks, delectable pastries, a wicked food list and spirits which I will not dive…but cannonball into during my next visit. Because there will be one….
When you’re in this mall and your feet begin to yell at you while your wallet echos in the background…Give both of them a rest…and do this for yourself. You deserve this experience. Thanks for reading and I hope you continue to follow @RealReviewsEverything as I travel the everywheres and give my experiences to you in a way that is…
