We have been here several times before and never had an issue but after our last visit we won't be back. We ordered our dinner and after 30 minutes and no food I asked the manager to check on our food. He had our waitress (as he stared from at her from the bar) come over and say the ticket was lost but the food would be out ASAP. We waited another 15 minutes and still no food. The table who arrived at the same time as us ordered, ate, and paid their bill before our food arrived. I decided that we would leave and walked up to the bar to pay for our drinks. The waitress who helped us was more interested in cancelling the order in the kitchen than in closing the tab. She then proceeded to say that it was our waitress's 'first day'. If this was true the management did little if anything to support her. She had tables throughout the restaurant and on the patio making it difficult to give everyone their full attention. When I brought the issue to the attention of the manager rather than make sure we got our food ASAP he continued to serve other customers. It shouldn't take over an hour for a hamburger. TLDR service is terrible, management...
Read moreJust sat at a table for 17 minutes without getting greeted. Saturday lunch? Totally understandable that it’s busy,we expected that. That’s not the problem, the problem is when you have servers making eye contact with you, ACKNOWLEDGING that you haven’t been greeted and choosing to not communicate that someone will be there soon is poor service. Had 1 server bussing the table next to us before greeting us, had another server asking the table next to us for another round before greeting us. So, we left. Called & mentioned the purposeful lack of service we got & all we got was a “we’re understaffed” so back to, ITS A SATURDAY. Why are you understaffed? There’s like a total of 30 tables maybe in that whole restaurant. Y’all gotta stop using the understaffed excuse and remove tables then. If you can’t get strong servers and/or enough serves to run your business, remove seating options so they aren’t...
Read moreI really enjoyed the food and drinks at Hyde Park Pub and Grill. We ended up eating in the front which was a bit quieter than in the back pub area. The decor is a bit sparse and it’s not really comfortable in the way that would invite you to spend hours of your time drinking like an English pub would.
The food and drinks were outstanding though! We shared the veggie fried rice. That alone is worth the trip! With the tofu and veggies with the rice, veggies, and tofu it’s already tasty but I strongly suggest you make it loaded. This will add pickled carrot, daikon, jalapeños, cilantro, and gochujang aioli. The portion was more than generous and we split it easily. We also had a kind of hot rum drink which was a special that month. It was delicious and we each had two of them. They weren’t overly sweet but just enough that they slid down easily. I will be happy to visit...
