This is a great coffee shop. The coffee is good and the pastries/breakfast items are absolutely scrumptious!!! The ham and cheese turnover and the scones are amazing. On one morning, I had a latte with rose and pistachio syrup; what a rare find in Idaho! Some clientele are very friendly and will initiate conversations with you. Service is great, but one time they forgot about my food order after a huge wave of customers after me came; I have them a friendly reminder and got my food right away :)

Great people, awesome space, "to go" food served in paper/compostable containers, and they will take your reusable mug. We got the breakfast croissant 🥐 for which they substituted the bacon for half of an avocado 🥑 without blinking. They do still wrap to go food in a plastic bag and hand plastic straws, so perhaps something on which to work for the future. Lots of outdoor seating on the side and in front.

Passing through Boise and had to see Hyde Park … so glad we did. We stopped at Java and their staff is so kind and helpful. We tried a variety of things: Thai coffee (yes), cortado (amazing), iced chai (best ever says my daughter) and a mocha with their homemade whip - my son devoured it. Their pastries are mouth watering as well. Definitely stop here if you haven’t yet.

What I love about Boise is the variety of coffee shops in the valley. We have a ton in town but each and every one of them are so different. Today my friend and I headed to Java in Hyde Park for some coffee and gossip.

This venue is so cool. It's in an old house. The vibe as soon as you walk in is pretty chill. There's plenty of tables and chairs for company or alone time. There's a comfy couch in front of an old school fire place. Lots of people chillin and doing their own thing.

The barista that helped us was sweet. She took her time with us with ordering. I got myself an iced honey oat milk latte and confetti eggs for breakfast.

I don't know if the barista heard me clearly when I asked for iced coffee but it ended being hot. It was no big deal that I got hot coffee but I would have preferred iced. My coffee was tasty! It was nicely sweetened with the honey. You can taste the creaminess of the oat milk. The coffee wasn't over whelming and bitter. It was a great latte. The confetti eggs were ok. They don't season the eggs which is fine so I seasoned that baby up with salt, pepper and chalula. Maybe it was the texture of the eggs because the way that they were cooked that didn't tickle my fancy. It just didn't hit for me. But the tortillas that were paired with the eggs were good! They were soft and warm. Overall, breakfast was just ok.

I did scope out some soup that was being served to some near by customers. It looked devine! It is something I will have to try the next time I'm there! I had such a good time at this joint today with my friend. If you're looking for a good meet up spot to chill and meet up, Java at Hyde Park would be a great...

We hold these truths to be self-evident: that not all coffee shops are created equal. Indeed. Just as a body must choose what type of person she is, a Tigger or an Eyeore, a mountain gal or seaside sweetie, one must decide where to sip some java. I say do so at Java House. But that’s me. I dig a rock and roll vibe, and that’s what you get at the JH, in addition to quality brew of course. I reckon the same goes for coffee staff / baristas. Where to hang your hat? A self-congratulating glad house of mediocre coffee, served by a bevy of preppy girls married or pledged to some Mr. Wonderful, on the West Side of 13th street? Or, for a single young man or young woman, with a rebellious streak, who does god-knows-what in spare time, possibly something NOT APPROVED BY MOM… well, there’s a place called Java House. Come and be merry.

Bonus: great location to work on your laptop. Dependable tank of water for the taking.. And hearty lunches that won't break the bank. Dig the sammy's for sho, sista...

Hilarious decor, including risqué bathroom prints and odes to heroes like Mr. Elvis Presley aka THE KING. He belongs here, and if you are artistic, with clear eyes and a full heart, you belong too.

Pondered one-star deduction because No loyalty program.. I want to earn a free cup / and also show my allegiance. Gimme a Barqtoo…

Disclaimer: the author has an annoying habit of ordering in a way that pre-empts the questions he knows the staff must ask. i.e. “I’ll take a 16-ounce cup of Medium Roast with a little room for milk....

This is one of those places that really invites you in. As you stand in the front of this coffee house it grabs you and take you in. Once inside you can expect nice staff with moderate experience of making coffee, but, that is because they do not specialize in coffee. There are many other drinks to choose from as well as light snacks and breakfast potentially even brunch. Coffee is quite decent but not great and the same thing goes for their prices. If you want to order a latte or cappuccino then you will be OK. Of course half a gallon of milk and all sorts of syrups will mask the truth about the quality of coffee itself. Another reason why I couldn't have given more than 3 stars is due to their business hours. Although they open very early for those who are on their way to work at 6am. But, If you are a late bird as in 7 or 8 pm, wanting to unwind from a long day and enjoy a cup of coffee on their lovely deck then you can just...
