Don’t know why the reviews are so high, considering how rude this establishment is. The woman with the glasses and long hair who takes orders has a disgusting, miserable attitude and I’d hate to say this place is racist, but it just seems fitting.
On every occasion, my family or friends go in and the woman who takes our order is just so nasty to us. I feel bad because maybe she does not like her job, but I never feel welcomed here. She makes faces at us, ignores us, and even made a rude comment about my family member’s hair. I hope that one day she understands that her actions affects others.
Their chicken sandwiches, which is what they’re known for, are okay. Flavor is mid, and lacks seasoning. Chicken a tad bit dry. If you want a good chicken sandwich where the people don’t make you feel bad for going there, go to Popeyes. I’d hate to leave such a bad review for an independent business, but they truly do seem miserable and do not treat their paying customers well.
To my fellow black patrons, please avoid going to this restaurant. They do NOT deserve your money. Do not give your money to a place that has such a nasty atmosphere. I can not say I am hopeful for a change. Just a warning for any body who is...
Read moreI took my in-laws here today. I'll start with what we ordered.
Nihari 8/10 Chicken 1/4 breast- 7/10 Chicken Bihari-10/10 Fries- 8/10
Everything is literally made to order. Your food will be piping hot. The nihari is the best item on the menu. I've never tasted nihari masala like this. It was perfect. The meat isn't as tender as one would expect from nihari but the masala overtakes that. I enjoyed the masala more than the meat.
The chicken breast was set on top of 2 pieces of garlic bread with a side of cole slaw and their signature sauce. It was pretty good but I've had better
The bihari was flawless. Not too spicy and the quantity was plentiful. It's set on top of yellow rice
Fries are seasoned with some sort of sweet and spicy powder. I liked it.
Their customer service was perfect. They were very accommodating to my handicapped mother in law. Very respectful to her and kept checking to make sure she had everything she needed. Her blood sugar was low and the cashier ran to the back and got her something to eat until our food was ready.
I will definitely be returning. I would encourage everyone here to...
Read moreAlthough Khizr’s kitchen can be considered a hole in the wall restaurant, its burgers are nothing short of legendary. Beginning with the Nuker Burger, this behemoth of a burger has 2 variations (nuker and fire) that vary in terms of heat. The burgers are made fresh and are second to none in terms of crisp. I absolutely love the tenderness of the chicken and the crunch of the breading. The nuker is easily my top pick for halal chicken burgers in Chicago.
As for the Mango Habañero, I absolutely love grilled chicken in burgers, and the flavor of the mango habañero seasoning lived up to my high expectations. With a combination of citrusy mango flavor and habañero heat, I would definitely order this burger again.
I also had their animal fries and cheeseburger (not pictured). The fries were crispy and topped with tasty melted cheese and meat. My only recommendation with the fries is that I wish they came with a bit more meat, but other than that they were excellent. As for the cheeseburger, it was cooked well and had a ton of flavor. Overall however, the best items I ordered were by far the nuker and the mango...
