I visited there during a recent getaway. I wanted some good Asian food, so of course I checked Yelp. Akitchen was highly ranked and close by so I figured I'd check it out. That was a good choice! It's a small restaurant inside of a strip mall. There are a few tables there to eat-in, but I got takeout. I ordred the Money Bags and Thin RIce Noodle Pad Thai with beef. The Money Bags were great! They were filled with meat and highly spiced. The peanut flavor really stood out! For about $9, you get 3 (not bad in my opinion), nice sized and the presentation was very cute! The dipping sauce was a great addition. A little sweetness to balance the savory of the filling. I ate them too fast though. Second, I had the Pad Thai. I try Pad Thai at just about every restaurant that serves it so I did so here too. The flavor was pretty good, though I would have liked more sauce on the noodles. The amount of beef was about right, but a little more wouldn't have hurt. The bean sprouts were nice and crunchy, noodles cooked well and the lime rounded everything out. The lady that greeted customer had a big smile when people came to pick up their food. Nice to see that, especially as it's becoming more rare to see it. She was very personable and my order was waiting for me at the time it was scheduled to be ready. Overall, I enjoyed the restaurant and meal and would definitely go there again when I'm in the area.

Quaint little place. I came here because they had a 4.6 ⭐️rating - I’ll say they deserve it….but it’s my first time so…second time around sometimes tells the truth! LOL…stay tuned, I will come back. The service was typical, nothing to write home about! I purchased the Ginger Perfect medium 🌶️. It was well seasoned and portioned! A bit more than I wanted to pay for a lunch - $20..but…it was worth it! I may have found a new favorite restaurant on the south side of town for when I travel this direction! UPDATE: Although the menu didn’t show a lunch 🥪 price, I received a lunch price! Kudos to my server! So I will comment and add its nice HONEST service here! Update: So it’s take 3! I came on weekend and there’s a different cook! And I can tell in the taste! It’s NOT as flavorful and the veggies were really undercooked. I may as well have went to the garden! However, I don’t want to take away from the ‘real’ cook but just fyi…timing is everything 👅 I did receive an unsolicited 5% discount…thankful for that but it wasn’t necessary but the waitress thanked me for my input!

I walked into this little spot on a lazy afternoon with nothing better to do, and honestly, I’m glad I did. It’s a tiny restaurant, but super clean and filled with light. The decor and the casual banter between the staff gave me the vibe that this is a Thai place (correct me if I’m wrong). As an East Asian who’s never actually had Thai food (I know, shame on me), I played it safe and went for the Korean beef bowl. The beef was pretty decent—tender and flavorful—but the rice was a bit too wet for my taste, and the kimchi didn’t quite hit the spot. But hey, it’s a Thai place, not a Korean one, so that’s fair. Later, I gave in and tried both the Tom Yum and Tom Kha soups. Google told me one’s supposed to be spicy, the other creamy, but plot twist: both were spicy 😅 Personally, I preferred the Tom Yum—it had that addictive tang and heat that makes you keep sipping even when your mouth’s on fire. Would I come back? Yup. Overall, it’s a solid little gem. Not perfect, but charming in its own way.

Take out yesterday - decided to try a new Thai (fusion) place based on great reviews. Maybe it's better IN the restaurant, but we did not like any of the food we ordered... well the dumplings were ok.

The pineapple fried rice (medium hot) was hot and pineapple-y, but very flat, lacking flavor...needed some acidity?

The Pad Thai was not good. We didn't like the really thin noodles (which seems to be your only option - there are 3 or 4 different "versions" of Pad Thai but they all came with vermicelli sized noodles..bleck). And the sauce was poured in one section of the noodles, not mixed at all - and btw, those derned itty bitty microscopic noodles are REALLY hard to mix things into. Flavor was kinda bland (we chose no spice...not why it was bland). Tofu was overcooked as were the chicken pieces. One bonus was the chicken was white meat, which we appreciated.

The Pho (chicken broth) also not so tasty. The broth was pretty flat. The fixings were beautiful and fresh (except some of the basil was a little worse for wear, but...it's basil, it does that if you look at it funny), but the broth was just too flat. So overall not nearly as good as Pho I've had from Mekong and others.

I also didn't feel so great that night and today. NOT a food poisoning kinda thing... more like some additive maybe? Or may be COMPLETELY unrelated...so, take this part with a grain of salt. Just felt weird and tummy a little off after dinner and then all my joints hurt today and fingers/lips a little swollen (the swelling is usually a too much salt thing for me).

As an added bonus...if you get delivery, it is Uber, so it's stupid expensive.

We won't order again, that's for sure. Probably won't hit up the restaurant either, but maybe if we're...
