Doug's Seafood Restaurant in Bonita Springs is a true gem! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The seafood here is incredibly fresh and flavorful – you can taste the quality in every bite! I had the lobster roll, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had! The lobster was perfectly cooked, generously portioned, and accompanied by just the right amount of butter and seasoning. The lobster wontons were also amazing, with a crispy, golden exterior and a deliciously rich and savory filling that melted in your mouth. What truly sets Doug's apart is their thoughtful addition of a kids' area, making it a perfect spot for families. It’s so refreshing to find a seafood restaurant where both adults and kids can enjoy themselves, creating a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience for everyone. Plus, they have a fantastic seafood market right on-site! You can pick up incredibly fresh fish, lobster, and other seafood to prepare at home, which is a huge bonus if you love cooking with high-quality ingredients. The staff at Doug's are friendly, attentive, and go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience. The prices are reasonable considering the exceptional quality of the food. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Doug's Seafood is a must-visit spot for anyone who loves fresh, delicious seafood. I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu! Highly recommended!

I’m going to be as nice as possible but not lie. When you walk in the smell is off putting. It’s a seafood establishment so it’s to be expected but cleaning with a little bleach can drastically minimize the smell. I ordered the clam chowder and there was no clam in my chowder, more potatoes than anything. When I was ordering my roll, the guys asked if I wanted chips as a side, me thinking I was getting fries was extremely disappointed when I received potato chips. It felt like a joke. Calling that thing a lobster roll is a huge reach. It might be lobster, it might not be. It’s served on a potato hot dog bun. Anywhoo, you order and your given a table number and they bring everything to you and just hand it to you. No trays, no actual plates. They’re operating cost might be low but their environmental impact is huge. The amount of waste this place must produce. Anyways, they have a soda fountain option where the soda is located on the other end of the restaurant, in the back. I did not enjoy this experience and I will not be back. I’m honestly shocked at all the other reviews or how this place is even open. Definitely smoke and mirrors.

Wow this place is a hidden GEM!! My hubby brought me home some Manhattan clam chowder the other day...little backdrop...I only like Manhattan clam chowder and I am very very picky about how its made... this place makes it perfect...today we decided to come and eat here and it really is this little hidden place in a strip mall...we ordered both styles of clam chowder...my hubby say the NE kind is authentic and creamy as well as being thick and having clam in each bite...and the Manhattan style is scrumptious its clammy and tomato-y and perfectly seasoned and they serve it with the best oyster crackers...their menu has a bunch of stuff including tacos and rolls...but dont just take my word for it come and see for yourself!!! Oh and the staff is pretty friendly as well...also the soups are filled to the brim!!! Some of the prices are expensive but most are reasonable...oh and they have an everyday fish and chips special for $10.95...SO COME ON DOWN AND ENJOY!!!

We have been going to Doug’s for 10 years. My Dad was from New England and Doug’s Seafood was where I could get the fried clams I remembered from Maine. They were fresh and meaty with a great light coating.

When the new owner started around a year ago I was fearful the quality, and the quantity we so loved would change. We mentioned to her last summer, raise your prices but do not mess with the recipes.

We visited every time we came to town and all was kept the same except for the wonderful redesign and welcoming atmosphere which we love! The prices did rise and we did not care for the food remained the same.

The last time we were there was March 2025. I had my clam fix (with the melt in your mouth onion rings) and all was good. We returned at the very end of May and noticed some differences. The food we ordered was very good but not what it was. Prices up (which is understandible from a fellow business woman in these trying times) but the quantity went down as well as a change to their frying coatings. The clams now had a crunchy coating which was good but took a way that New England clam taste. It was hidden under all the crunch. And the much thinner fried grouper had a different coating also which caused it to overcook and be a bit dry.

Needless to say we will be back and support this little gem of a place. We are a bit disappointed that they made the changes that I was hoping they would not do but regardless, it is a taste of New England and...

Let me start by saying, this place is now under new management. Bad Reviews from 1 year or so ago will definitely NOT be accurate. We live year round in the Bonita Springs area for the past 21 years. When Doug's originally opened, the place was good. Then it changed hands and over the past 3 years or so, the place went rapidly downhill. It was getting very dirty and the food was mediocre at best. We stopped going because of the potential health risk. But now....... Either new management or new ownership has brought this place back from the dead. The interior received an entire facelift. It's very clean and neat, decorated nicely, with your typical simple Seafood atmosphere. The food is very good to great. Two weeks ago was our first visit in years. We ate "in" for lunch and ordered The Grilled Shrimp Wrap and The Fish N' Chips. Everything was Great. Today we ordered dinner to go. The Grilled Shrimp Taco's and The Bouillabaisse. OMG.....The Bouillabaisse was spectacular. Both volume and flavor. It will feed 2 people. I eat a lot, and I couldn't finish. Delicious! The grilled taco's were cooked perfectly. If you have given up on this place in the past (like us), do yourself a favor and give them a try again......You will not be sorry! We will be back as...
