We were up here vacationing mid-August. It was our son's birthday & over the past few years it's been tradition for us to let the kids get doughnuts for their birthday breakfast. Usually it's just donuts from Dunkin (ugh 🤦♀️) since we don't have anywhere close to our home that sells "homemade" doughnuts, & they like that just fine since it's a treat we do a few times/year & not an "everyday" thing, as it is with so many others.
But since we were up in Boothbay, we got to come here to pick up an assortment of incredible homemade baked goods. We ended up with chocolate cannoli, coffee cannoli, raspberry doughnuts, chocolate doughnuts, & a vegan & GF chocolate "cake" topped with fresh fruit for me! I cannot eat dairy or gluten, &, although I don't have much of a sweet tooth, the "cake" looked too good to miss, & it did not disappoint!! It was not too sweet, & so decadent, a nice treat for me on our only son's 16th birthday. 🤗 It wasn't even the only vegan GF option they had, which is amazing - usually there's only one sad option for me at places like this, again, I don't have a big sweet tooth so usually I don't care since I don't bother, but for others, they have several vegan gluten-free OPTIONS & they're incredible! 😋 🤗
According to the others in our familial group, the doughnuts & cannoli were fantastic! Highly recommend. Although we didn't eat here, they had great outdoor seating with wonderful articulating, heavy-duty umbrellas that provided great coverage from...
Read moreThis place does it all. Incredible hotdogs. We had the streetcorn hotdog. Sliced down the middle, smoosh fried. Perfect elotes style corn. Also had the chili dog. Didn’t disappoint. And I know my hot dogs. This reminded me of the Coney Island dog, which hails from Detroit, chilli that is simple and extremely thick, onions, shredded cheese. Yum. Also the peanut waffle sunday was great. Peanut butter cups crushed on top of a freshly made waffle, with homemade vanilla ice cream, same owners as ice cream factory down the street. The next day we tried breakfast. This was the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Not exaggerating. Amazing homemade dill bread. Fresh eggs, crispy bacon, feta cheese. Perfect. The bread is worth the visit alone. Crispy and golden crust with sesame seeds, focaccia/croissant type middle. Huge bagel lox made the right way. Prices are also extremely reasonable considering being steps away from the legendary boothbay harbor footbridge. And to top it all off they make espressos and lattes. Great friendly service! 10/10...
