I’m giving four stars because one of the employees there was excellent! Wish. I caught her name but she made the experience in the shop pretty nice. As for two of the other employees one practically following us around the store and keeping an eye on us which was uncomfortable, not sure if it was because we had a 6 year old with us or if she was just trying to keep a eye out if we wanted help with something but it kinda felt weird. The other employee was a older man who couldn’t be bothered to tend to other customers to cash out while standing at the counter for a long time because he was too busy with a customer he was chatting with talking about his ‘energy’ and personal experiences, which isn’t a problem for a short period but you could at least acknowledge the people waiting behind them or let us know he’ll get to us or anything at all lol. The good employee there came up to us to make sure we could get his attention because she saw us waiting there for quite a while and she also had to let him know that there are other customers waiting in line. She then proceeded to engage in conversation while we waited in line to cash out (because the man at the cash register was still going on in his deep conversation) but she was talking to our 6 year old about some of the cool items behind us and she made it feel warm and welcoming. Will return due to this one employee and try it out again. They have so many great things to check out and I would like to bring my mom here in the future. Overall worth going. Hopefully the next time I go I’ll be able to come back and update this and add on a...
Read moreMy wife and I have been going to Enchantments for years. Sometimes I feel more like I am visiting Boothbay when I am going to Enchantments rather than the reverse. We walked in today and noticed some big changes. First, it is very bright. It used to be just bright enough, lighting soft and inviting. Everything had just the right mixture of light and shadow. Second, the music was so low all I could hear were people’s conversations. There used to be New Age music that filled the space and often reminded me that I should meditate more often. Third, there was no incense burning. They have always burned two different incense together. It was the smell of Enchantments. My wife asked what they were once and now occasionally burns them at our house. Fourth, there used to be a cluttered feeling when you walk through the aisles. Trinkets and others things would brush your shoulder making you feel like you were entering a fantasy land. Now the place is spacious, too spacious, like you’re in a mystical section of Walmart. All these things added to this comfortable feeling like the universe was giving you a hug. The FEELING just seems to have slipped away a bit. I think only someone who has going there for years would notice it. I thought it was just me but wife and I met up after walking around and she noticed it as well. It made us feel a little sad. Things...

I was drawn to this shop, but left disappointed. There's a sign outside saying "all are welcome" but it didn't feel welcoming in the slightest. We weren't greeted, weren't asked if we needed help finding anything, if it was our first time, if we were looking for anything in particular, etc. It was barely organized chaos. All sorts of signs saying "don't touch" this, "don't touch" that, & tons of stuff was just locked up.
Sign on the pin holder saying "NO PHOTOS." Um, really?? People take pictures of things & post them in online reviews & on social media, for goodness sakes. That's FREE ADVERTISING. Plus, in the first place, over $3 for a tiny 1" pin (factoring in tax) is absurd. If you want people to actually buy them & not just take photos of them, price them reasonably...
It was oppressive how much inventory was crammed into this shop, & I was worried I'd accidentally knock something over, given the ridiculously close quarters. Pretty sure they're violating safety regulations given how narrow & cramped everything is, it's that tight in here. You certainly could not get around in even a narrow wheel chair, if you could get inside at all...
Not a pleasant experience. Ended up leaving after just browsing a bit because it was just too much & not welcoming & I was worried about accidentally...
