Gleason Fine Art — Attraction in Boothbay Harbor

Upon seeing a piece at the gallery, I emailed and texted the owner an offer a week or two later. Thought it was a realistic offer as the artist's previously sold paintings ( on the average) were less than the offer.

No response for a few weeks. Upon calling the second time, owner gave us a pompous answer that sounded somewhere along the lines such as we're below his artworld net worth.

Seems like we're not the first to have an offer...

Several months after visiting this gallery, I presented an offer for a painting. No response so I contacted the gallery and was told they were waiting for the owner to respond to them. One more week with zero communications from the gallery even after I sent an email several days ago and I have now withdrawn my offer. The lack of interest in making a sale is astonishing and the lack of communication...

To be real, I'm in no financial bracket to purchase anything from this place. But it's still incredibly fun to walk around like a museum. The owner is also personable and fun to talk to. Only thing I'd warn about is they have a pretty rambunctious and large store dog. I can see him stressing people out and I'm honestly surprised they have an animal like that in a place with so much...
