Went for first time like in 2015 I believe. Best food and service. You have to try one of their locations, many thanks to the owners 💕 the food is def what you would call “gourmet “. I’d give the food a 10. But just as importantly here is an example of how wonderful and accommodating mgmt./owner are. So…. Everyone in the area KNOWS Toscano’s is always FULLY booked on Valentine’s Day. It’s really special. We waited down the block for almost an hour OUTSIDE of “Marcello’s” (another Bordentown local restaurant (pizza and drinks are the only thing worth going there for) with no reservations. They’re usually always booked on Valentine’s Day also. But Vinny the owner of “Marcello’s” himself looked directly into both mine and my boyfriends eyes and gently said (since we were regulars for their pizza & sangria on Friday nights) “I’m gonna take care of you guys, give me 10 mins tops and I’ll have someone come out to get you and bring you back in and seat you” we even offered to sit at the bar and not one seat open. So, we decided we’d wait a half an hour at most because it was way too cold and windy. No where inside to even stand and wait indoors in February! Okay, so long story short. After a half hour we went in to ask how much longer and it was like the owner had amnesia. He said “I dont even remember you guys checking in, why didn’t you wait inside so I’d see you. I just sat 3 other couples. I’ve got absolutely nothing else left. IMO He’s not even worth arguing with. He doesn’t really care that he has no waiting area. Never even apologized. BOO So needless to say we were out of there in no time, without any intention of ever coming back. I said to my boyfriend, let’s just try Toscano’s. Maybe by chance they’ll have a cancellation. So we walked a block up to TOSCANOS and not only was the ambiance 100% better. It smelled like heaven. They even served by favorite sauv blanc. Only thing was, It didn’t look too promising. Still, we asked the owner sitting at the door if they could possibly take us, and that we dropped the ball had no reservations. He had a giant genuinely warm smile right away making us feel at ease. He spoke to the hostess in Italian and within literally 3 minutes they made just enough room for two, brought out a small table with 2 chairs, a crisp white table cloth, lit a candle and brought out fresh 🌹 🌹🌹 and held our chairs and seated us.!!!! Offering us drinks and the best bread. HANDS DOWN - Toscano’s 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Marcello’s 👎 👎👎👎👎 They could have honestly turned us away, we didn’t call ahead, but they instead decided that they would do something great lol EVEN WITHOUT A RESERVATION!!!! That’s classy. Also, MOST Importantly did I forget to say the food is out of this world? compliments to the very fine chef, and the owner/wait staff & management!!! That’s the old school classy way to do business. The whole staff was very sweet! From the owner to the newest bus boy. All showed us a really nice evening. Much love for TOSCANOS! ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks for the...
Read moreI don't give 5 star reviews lightly, but my dinner there last night absolutely deserved it. I had a reservation for 7pm and my table was ready immediately when I arrived. On the way to the table, I noticed they had a nice selection of whiskey behind the bar, with offerings from Weller, Blantons, and Parkers Heritage.
The service throughout the evening was prompt but not rushed. For a busy Sunday night, dirty dishes were cleared immediately, water was refilled, and fresh drinks from the bar were taken care of immediately. Service all around was top not h.
For the food, I started with the clams casino. I can never turn them down when on the menu as every restaurant does them differently. The clams at Toscanos were not traditional with onions and breadcrumbs, but rather were a little neck clam, covered in a slice of bacon, accompanied by a sauce of butter, Tobacco, and herbs. It was mildly reminiscent of a buffalo wing sauce but in the best way possible, and don't let the Tabasco scare you. It brought flavor but barely noticeable heat. Save a piece of bread to mop up the sauce. The lobster bisque had great depth of flavor, and the texture was smooth as silk. It's easily one of the best I've tried.
For the main course, I had the 14 oz dry aged filet with a side of their French onion potatoes. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare, though it was a tad saltier than it should have been. A big steak like that definitely needs to be seasoned well, but this went a touch too far. The steak had a beautiful crusted exterior, and the demi glace with rosemary imparted great flavor. The quality was on par with many of the high end steakhouses I've tried in NYC and Philly. The French onion potatoes were amazing. I didn't see how much butter and cream they added and I don't want to know. They were rich, creamy, and decadent and I highly recommend adding them to your meal. Fantastic. Dessert was their tiramisu, and I try it anywhere it is on the menu. This was easily in the top 5% I've tried. The lady fingers were soaked in the perfect amount of espresso, giving pleasant moisture without making the dessert soggy. The cream was rich and not overly sweet, and the dusting of cocoa on top was enough to be present without overpowering the palate.
The only criticism I'd offer was that there were some flies that were a nuisance during the meal. I understand that it's summer and the door gets opened a million times so it's not completely controllable, but it did somewhat distract from an otherwise amazing meal.
I enthusiastically recommend trying Toscanos if you're in the area, though you should probably be sure to have a reservation. You won't be...

Our journey commenced with a bowl of exquisite lobster bisque; every spoonful carried the essence of the sea, a creamy elixir that warmed our spirits. Next, we embarked on a culinary expedition, guided by the irresistible allure of bacon-dusted calamari. The melding of smoky bacon and tender calamari was a harmonious revelation, elevated further by a sweet and tangy plunge into the realm of sweet and sour sauce.
