I have been a frequent customer at Fornax for well over a decade. I have always been a fan of the delicious sandwiches, salads and homemade soups (butternut squash soup my favorite) When COVID hit I stopped being in the area. Well in December my foster daughter started play therapy at The Home for Little Wanderers on American Legion. Stopped by Fornax a few times to get a chicken salad. Chicken was very dry and they forgot to add dressing š¤·š¾āāļøš„“. 2nd time same dry chicken and forgot some ingredients that I was able to correct before I headed home in the South End. 3rd salad I was pretty mad and called the bakery. I know The owner Kim and asked to speak to her. Welp...found out Fornax was sold and under new ownershipš«£šš. No more Kimšš. Not sure what is going on with the new owners but I'm not feeling it. That chicken on the mixed green salad is like chicken chips. Please fix this. Also my delicious bread got moldy after 2 daysšš«¤. Maybe they are working out the kinksš¤·š¾āāļø. Soup was good, sandwich was good Lil Skippy on the salami. Staff was nice and helpful. I had plans to ask Kim for the butter nut Squash recipešš. Can't believe your gone Kim. I feel like this, if your not going to stick to good quality like Kim always did change the name. Fix the chicken. It's dry AF. Best wishes to Kim and her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been going to this bakery for many years. There is a mystique about going to a bakery rather than buying bread from the supermarket. The decor in this place certainly contributes to the ambience of baking bread in your home. That said I no longer want to patronize this establishmentās for the following reasons. 1. If you decide to eat in the tables are always filthy and full of debris crumbs what have you: I have never ever seen anyone come from behind the counter to sweep the floor and wipe the tables down from one customer to the next. More importantly the menu is horrible and the food poorly prepared. I recently ordered a bacon & egg sandwich with cheese. The sandwich had a single egg and two thin slices of bacon nestled between two extremely thick pieces of bread. I also had a piece of coffee cake that was extremely dry and bordered on stale, perhaps cooked several days prior to the purchase. Item on the menu are extremely expensive and do not align with the quality. Clean the dam place up, for Godās sake you pass yourself off as a bakery. Given your pricing, location, you have som major improvements that are long over due. Spoken from a person who have patronized you establishment...
