Ideal Cafe & Pizza — Restaurant in Boston

If you ever have a hankering for hearty pizza - not that ethically raised beet and locally sourced goat cheese on a gluten-free, GMO-free crust gourmet pizza - but pizza that pairs with a beer and an episode of the Sopranos - head over to Ideal Cafe & Pizza. Selection was pretty decent; although, I would like to see a few more vegetarian-friendly options especially given the crunchy neighborhood, but we ended up with the no-nonsense calzone (all veggie with plenty'o'cheeses) & spicy waffle fries. They were not lying when they said it was large. It was bursting with toppings and came with dipping marinara. The fries were finger-licking good and easily topped off my required daily amount of sodium. When we went to pick up the order, all the employees were friendly and talkative.

In summary: great folded-pie, fast and friendly service, and convenient location....

Edit: March 2023 - the pizza was undercooked even though I told them over the phone and in person I wanted it well done. Doughy (like legit not cooked) and not the same pizza I had months ago. Won’t be going here again.

Original: good bbq chicken pizza. Prices are different compared to the online menu though. Online menu price had a small bbq chicken pizza as $12.49 but at the restaurant and receipt it’s $13.99 ($14.97 with tax).

They should update the website menu with the new prices but overall I’ll go here again. Pizza was hot and crust was crispy and well done with no special request needed (just how I like it). Onion rings were crispy as well.

In my opinion if you like a good crunch to your pizza crust I’ll go here instead of the place further down the street. This will be my new go to...

I came on Friday And ordered a small steak and cheese sub today is Thursday and I ordered another steak and cheese sub but this time I was feeling hungry so I decided to get a large tell me why the subs are the same size and then I go in the store and tell him this isn’t a large and he’s going to try to argue with me saying it’s the same amount of meat it’s just the bread is different which is fine but if I pay for a large sub I want a large slice of bread not a small slice of bread so now I feel like I got ripped off and you know it’s not like they was going to try to sit here and make me my other half of the sub I paid for .. for the inconvenience so never again!
