Perkins Square — Local services in Boston

I have lived here for eight years and been very happy. Relatively quiet, safe, and close to the city and parks. One of the only affordable options left in JP by far. I think if you are considerate, clean, and pay your rent on time the landlord and Leeder Management are more than reasonable. My apartment is huge, and in good condition. I’ve been here for a while so they replaced my appliances (once they broke) immediately. Parking for guests is easy and if I got a car parking is an option. The groundskeepers are so nice and my packages never get stolen.

Only complaints are: no dishwashers, laundry rooms are always busy, one is usually broken, etc. I also live on a third floor walk up (no elevators) which is fine for me because I’m in decent shape but I see some of the older or disabled tenants struggle. Linoleum kitchen floors are a beast to clean and never stay that way. Also more young families have moved in, so the number of young children has doubled since I’ve been here. This is not actually a real estate agency. Perkins Sq is managed by Leeder Management. There is someone who manages it who has an office on site, and they're generally pretty good about responding to tenant concerns. We did end up getting roaches a few times, but it wasn't too terrible. I really enjoyed living there for 2 1/2 years, but then I had to move for work.
