I soooo wanted to love this place & live in the neighborhood and love Indian food (having lived in London for 4 yrs and eaten curries at least twice a week). So I decided to try this place last Sat. I ordered chicken korma and it was AWFUL!!! it was a generic chicken curry--there wasnt any coconut flavors at all--Zilch. It was the most generic chicken curry, actually Trader Joe's frozen Indian food tastes better and more authentic, it was that bad. I was taken aback. The price for chicken korma was $19.95, which is expensive considering this dish is normally on average about $14.95. But I thought, ok, if its really good quality and good quality chicken, its worth it. It was garbage. Now the 2nd part--the rice they served me was day old dry basmati rice!!!!! For that price, they didnt even serve freshly made/same day rice. I am hispanic and grew up eating rice every day--I know day old or two day old rice!!!! That was the nail on the coffin. Absolutely horrible quality--the basic chicken dish was not a korma--not even close. The day old rice was not delicious and I left most of it. I wanted to let my server know but after putting the food on the table, she never once came by to check on me or ask if I needed anything. the raita was ok...not enough fresh scallions in it...overall, massive fail. If anyone thinks this is good Indian food, they have never eaten delicious properly made korma or other authentic dishes. Avoid, expensive and not honest to serve basic chicken curry as a korma dish. Also, service was nonexistent and it was slow in the restaurant. So disappointed. If it had been decent, I'd probably order 1 or 2 times a week....
Read moreBoyfriend picked up food here and said it smelled good, hopes were high that we would have a new local fav and avoid those delivery fees. Sadly, the food was meh to just plain bad. To start love gobi manchurian, eaten it at multiple restaurants in multiple places, and that's not what we got...I certainly understand regional differences in specific foods but it was like asking for hot wings and getting chicken nuggets. The veg curry and tofu item (don't remember name) were decent but nothing great. All three weirdly had a strong taste of black pepper. Roommate got the masala and said that it was closer to marinara sauce than any masala they'd had before. The only real star was the califlower pea stuff naan it was good, nice flavour and good texture. Sadly, the other naans were terrible. To quote my roommate "if you told me this was trader joes frozen naan I'd believe you", parts of their naan were weirdly doughie. We also got the garlic naan which at first bite seemed very dry, the second bite the naan was cracking from how dry it was. It tasted like week old garlic bread. Suffice to say we won't be...

I knew I wanted mango lassi as I always will, but I also ordered chicken momo's, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and some rice.
The lassi seemed to me as pre-made, but was still refreshing. The momo's caught by pleasant surprise with how great they were! The seasoning and spice level were impressive but not over the top. They made me realize how bland east Asian dumplings usually are. Secondly, the chicken tikka masala along with the seasoned rice were a delicious combo. The chicken was savory, tangy, with a hint of sweetness. The rice had some sort of seasoning that made it more than just regular old rice, which was a great addition to the chicken. Lastly, the garlic naan was a bit overcooked and I didn't really taste any garlic, but it didn't totally take away from the experience.
All in all, the mains: the masala, momos, and rice were fantastic and worthy of 5 stars, but the lacking experience I had with the garlic naan and mango lassi bring it down a bit. Still a great littleplace in JP that is...
