Had passed this place numerous times in my comings and goings on Washington St. Stopped in today for a late lunch and was heavily unsatisfied. It honestly was the worst chinese food Ive had in a long time and $10.50 I wish I spent at Wendys.
I ordered the Kung Poa chicken combo with beef terriyaki. I started with the terriyaki which was bright red on the outside and almost red all the way through. The texture of the beef just seemed elestic and chewy, like microwaved meat or something.
The Kung Poa chicken was worse. The chicken was tasted gamey and had this forgotten frozen chicken from the back of the freezer texture. The sauce was thin and not spicy. The vegetables were celery carrots and these chunks of watet chestnuts. I ate only the celery and carrots.
OH and there was a shrimp shell at the bottom of my Kung Poa also. No bueno!
The rice was the highlight. Light decent flavor with pork that didnt have all the moisture cooked out of it. But this highlight was only a highlight cause everything else was horrible.
First impression was poor.
There will never be a return visit to change that impression.
I hate giving bad reviews but if I do its cause it was...
Read moreFirst time eating here and I think it’ll be the last time. No pictures on their website, so you’re completely guessing whatever you’re ordering. I ordered from the seafood menu, got the “shrimp with lobster sauce”. There are no ingredients listed on their website either, so you don’t know what comes with the meal, but I was hoping for shrimp and at least rice with maybe some sauce on top. What I received was a few large shrimp with this vat of ugly brown sauce that also has tons of ground beef in it. I ordered from the seafood menu so I wouldn’t have ground beef. 😕 No rice, just this brown muddled bowl and shrimp. And they included some melted butter-looking side for dipping?? With all this brown goop, what’s the point of the butter?? For $16 I was expecting a lot more. This restaurant also doesn’t serve drinks. Had to go to another restaurant across the street for a soda. I didn’t look in the bag when I picked up the order but I also don’t think I would want to come back to get anything else from their menu even if they did offer a...
Read moreI went to this place and I ordered shrimp Skewers. They were very good with lots of flavor. My beef with them is they’re over charging folks on tax. We all know the tax rate in Massachusetts is 6.25% but they.charged me 7%. Now, I asked why so much taxes the response I got was I don’t know it’s what’s in the computer. We asked for the manager and of course he wasn’t there. Now, if they charged me 7% imagine how many others are getting over charged. Also when my girl got her food, the guy at the register had the audacity to ask her if she had .25 cents for the bag they put her food in. We gotta be careful with these establishments and keep our eyes peeled on what they charge vs what it should be.
Here’s what found on google: The combined sales tax rate for Boston, MA is 6.25%. This is the total of state, county and city sales tax rates. The Massachusetts state sales tax rate is currently 6.25%. The Suffolk County sales...
