Sweeties has been on my radar ever since I heard about them last year. I made the trek from California all the way to Boston, and I figured it was the best time to check it off of my foodie bucket list. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
Taste: I tried the golden milk, toasted hay, cornbread, and sweet basil flavors. They were all so unique, flavorful, robust, and delicious! It was tough to pick a favorite, but I ended up with the sweet basil with a coconut non-dairy base. The texture was light, smooth, and satisfying. In summary, it was damn good! Each spoonful had me doing my happy dance LOL!
Service: The staff was extremely friendly and down-to-earth. Jamila was really nice and approachable and she quickly whipped up my custom cone. Anika was very knowledgeable and gave me some great food recommendations for local businesses in the area. This woman-owned shop is doing it right, and they do it well. The service was top-notch!
Location: Itās right in the heart of the super cute Roslindale community. Need I say more?
Price: I thought the price was quite fair for gourmet New Zealand-style ice cream. Itās not just ice cream. Itās a whole experience, and itās absolutely worth the price. I was happy to support this small business.
Ambiance: This place is such a vibe. Itās fun, friendly, relaxed, welcoming, family-oriented, and just so cool. I struck up a conversation with a few regular customers, and I could have easily stayed for hours just chatting with the owners.
Cons: None. Iām sad that there isnāt a location on the West Coast.
I wish them all the best! I highly recommend everyone check out Sweeties and get a taste of the āSweeties...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was disappointed with my experience at Sweeties today. I have been wanting to check this place out for months and went today for the first time. My understanding is that the ice cream is supposed to be New Zealand style soft serve. However, the chocolate ice cream that I got I saw being handed from one worker to another as a ball. And then plopped in the cup. Yes the workers were wearing gloves but still it was very unappetizing to see this ball of ice cream being handed over like that. My friend got the coffee ice cream which was clearly soft serve and looked much more appetizing. The folks working there were also not very friendly and mostly on their phones. I felt like I was inconveniencing them when I ordered. Maybe I just caught this place on an off day but I'm unsure if I...

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by Anika's friendly face, full of warmth and excitement to share the unique New Zealand-style ice cream experience. As an ice cream lover, I had high hopesāand Sweeties went above and beyond!
Their soft-serve was the creamiest, dreamiest Iāve ever had! I went for chocolate, added fresh banana, topped it off with extra chocolate jimmies, and finished with a dollop of homemade whipped creamāabsolute perfection. Every bite was a little piece of heaven. Seriously, donāt just walk⦠run to Sweeties for the indulgence you didnāt know you needed! Iāll definitely be back with my family to enjoy it...
