Overall Rating: delicious, fresh food that was cooked perfectly. Large, filling portions. Price wasn’t too expensive. Service was fast, friendly, and polite. Place was clean and tables weren’t cramped together. No reservations but the wait time is around 15 minutes. Would definitely recommend and come back again! Only two small bathroom stalls – one for the women and one for the men.
Nutella & Strawberry French Toast w/ a ball of fluffy butter & dusting of powdered sugar ($10). – Fresh, thick toast w/ the right amount of egg batter, not dry & cooked perfectly, generous portion of strawberries, with a nice drizzle of Nutella. Not overly super sweet but satisfies the sweet-tooth cravings. Would definitely recommend & get it again.
Eggs (two poached) – with home fries + sourdough toast, bacon ($9). Perfectly poached and yolks were very runny. Bacon wasn’t too burned and not too greasy. Nice dish to compliment with the French Toast. Overall, it was good but would probably get the omelet instead.
Spanish Omelet w/ homefries & sourdough toast – chorizo, roasted corn, grilled onions & peppers, cheddar-jack, pico de gallo ($12). Delicious & perfectly cooked and seasoned. But the eggs were a little flat and could be a little fluffier. The cheddar-jack cheese was melted nicely. None of the ingredients over-powered each other and complimented well together. The homefries were perfectly seasoned and the scallions were a nice touch. Sourdough toast had that nice, chewy texture and pulled apart beautifully – could tell it was very fresh and only slightly toasted to give it a nice crunch. Would definitely recommend to satisfy that omelet craving.
Ice Coffee ($3) – black coffee with added milk. Black coffee wasn’t too bitter & didn’t...
I went to Milkweed after Black Friday in 2020 and it was the bees knees. Even amongst the pandemic, the restaurant managed to maintain its shine and sparkle. The ambience was warm, inviting and cozy. I went with my good friend Beatrice and we split the parmesan truffle fries, the salmon cakes and the green thai curry salmon. (I like salmon).
The portions were huge so it was smart to share our plates. The apps were decent I liked the fries more than the salmon cakes, but the green thai curry salmon was divine. Not an ounce of flavor was missing in that dish. The salmon's fattiness balanced well with the warm curry sauce and jasmine rice. They make some mean drinks too. The traditional Irish coffee tasted like a handcrafted latte from Starbucks and I don't even drink coffee. I badly wanted a dessert dish, but sadly had no space for it.
It's located on Tremont Street, so parking can be very tricky and risky if you're not familiar with Boston streets and traffic. The storefront is closer to Roxbury Crossing T Station than Brigham's Circle. In regards to being COVID-19 compliant, they had plastic barriers in between tables and hand sanitizer readily available. Our server Elian, donned a mask, gloves and stood back several feet from the table. It's not a huge space, but big enough where you don't feel cramped where you're sitting; there were even a couple booths near the bar. The staff were super friendly and helpful and wore milkweed branded clothes which I'm sure contributes to the team spirit.
Although I came for dinner, I cannot wait to return for brunch in the imminent future....

Came here a few times for breakfast and brunch before heading to the ISG Museum. Although it's located in Roxbury Crossing, it's just a quick 5-minute walk from the museum. The menu features all the classic breakfast and brunch items, but with a quality that’s a notch above your typical diner fare.
From their signature breakfast plates, Morning Madness and the Salmon Cakes were my top picks. The Morning Madness was essentially a classic breakfast plate but elevated with top-notch ingredients. The Salmon Cakes, topped with diced tomatoes and scallions, were simple yet amazing. I loved how the salmon itself wasn’t overly salty; instead, the cheesy grits and chipotle aioli provided just the right amount of seasoning to highlight the umami.
From their other plates, I also tried the Shakshuka and the Nutella + Strawberry French Toast. The Shakshuka had a milder sauce than I usually prefer, but it was still enjoyable. The real star of these plates was undoubtedly the thick and fluffy toast. Whether dipped in the chunky tomato sauce of the Shakshuka or slathered with chunks of salted butter, the toast was phenomenal in every combination. My favorite combo was the simple delight of toast with salted butter, but I couldn’t resist trying it as a French Toast. The toast, slightly denser than typical French toast, still worked beautifully and made for an indulgent treat.
Overall, it's the perfect spot to fuel up in the morning. Even on Boston’s quiet weekend mornings, this place is buzzing with energy. Highly recommend...
