The Row Hotel at Assembly Row, Autograph Collection is a classy, modern hotel located at the heart of a flourishing urban neighborhood in Somerville, Massachusetts, a part of the Boston area. This was my first time visiting Somerville, just a bit north of the city, and it quickly made itself on my list of hotels to suggest outside of Boston. Staying here allows you to experience the serenity of the outskirts while still being close enough to the city to enjoy the best of both worlds. The hotel itself has a sleek and inviting vibe and compliments the surrounding area quite well. It’s located right in Assembly Square with amazing shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Hotels are always best when they are within walking distance to cool places 👌🏼 If you’re looking for a great property a little outside the city or perhaps a hotel to book with credit card points, The Row Hotel is a great hotel to consider! ✔️ Save this for your next trip or staycation 💻 Full hotel review available on jessicalitras.com #somerville #somervillema #downtownsomerville #assmeblysquare #greaterboston #bostonhotel #bostonhotels #hotelblogger

Love this hotel. Stayed here for 8 nights last year and the same this year. We were greeted back with welcoming smiles by the lovely Anny and Lynn who even remembered us from last year. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are cleaned perfectly every day (and that’s coming from someone with OCD!!). Karla did an amazing job cleaning our room to perfection. But all of the staff clean the rooms beautifully. The room is spacious and the showers are great. The doors are a bit heavy though so if people let their doors slam late at night it can be a bit loud.

We love the location there are so many nice shops and places to eat. The Italian restaurant right next door has lovely pasta and pizzas. You certainly won’t be bored stayed here.

The manager Christopher is always happy, very welcoming and friendly and Anny, Rose and Lynn will go above and beyond to welcome you with a smile, help you where needed, provide bottles of free water and assist with where you need to go (and even listen to your stories of your days events!!). Lynn even gave my kids gorgeous soft toys which made their day! And Anny always makes a fuss of my kids talking to them about their day. She is a very sweet and kind lady.

I like the complimentary pantry on the second floor so I can get my little one her bedtime milk (and a cheeky coffee for me!).

The Charlie passes were great for our day trips (last year we spent so many $$$ and lots of wasted time sitting in traffic in Ubers). The train system is really good, efficient, easy to navigate and quick! If you are looking for an afternoon out check out Salem (it’s a very cool and quirky town as long as witchcraft doesn’t freak you out!).

We didn’t have the breakfast as we preferred to go out. Tatte is a gorgeous cafe with amazing cakes and pantries (ask for your coffee hot though). However every day it’s crazy busy in there and pretty hectic . So once we found Juicy Greens (right next to the train station) that was our regular breakfast spot (they have really good Colombian coffee, smoothies, açaí bowls and plenty more). Staff are friendly and the place is much more quiet and chilled. You won’t be disappointed.

Activities we enjoyed most in Boston was a guided tour around Harvard university, city bus tour, duck tour, panIQ escape room, aquarium, Boston tea party.

Honestly I can’t say enough about this hotel, we are so happy we came back. Originally we were staying at the Marriot in Portland Maine, it was such a disappointment due to the poor customer service, bad restaurant and unpleasant location that we cut our trip short and headed back to The Row. It certainly did not disappoint. Staying here...

I recently stayed at The Row Hotel in Assembly Row, Somerville, MA for approximately one month and overall had a very positive experience. I was upgraded to a corner room which was significantly larger than the standard king rooms, and found the rooms to be well appointed and clean. The daily housekeeping ensured that my room was always in top condition. The staff were friendly and always willing to help with any needs.

One of the highlights of my stay was the comfort of the bed. The bed was extremely comfortable and provided a great night's sleep. This is a vital aspect of any hotel stay, and The Row Hotel exceeded my expectations in this area. Additionally, the hotel had numerous meeting and work spaces available, which were great for those who need to get some work done during their stay. The spaces were well-equipped and provided a comfortable and productive environment.

The Row's housekeeping staff are some of the best I have ever encountered. Every time my room is taken care of, I am blown away at how CLEAN it is.

The on-site gym and heated pool were incredible. The gym was well-equipped and provided a great way to stay active during my stay. The heated pool was also a great way to relax after a long day. The location of the hotel is also convenient, as it is a quick four minute walk to the MBTA Orange line. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable during my stay.

The only downside of my experience was that Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador members do not get free breakfast, only a $10 credit daily under the Lounge Access Guarantee. Cheapest breakfast option during weekdays? $25 for the (delicious) buffet.

Marriott's benefits guide states: "If lounge is closed or property does not have a lounge or approved alternative, property to offer daily continental breakfast in restaurant for Member +1 or Member can choose 750 Points per night of stay " Every other Autograph Collection hotel I have stayed at has offered breakfast credit that would cover the entire cost of a breakfast. In this case, a $25 daily credit would make sense.

Overall, I would recommend The Row Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in the Assembly Row area. The comfortable bed, numerous meeting and work spaces, and the on-site gym and pool, make this hotel a great choice for both leisure and business travelers. While the lack of breakfast provided is disappointing, It does not detract from the service provided by staff, the ease of access and the overall enjoyment of this...

My friends and I were given this room as a gift for the night, and apparently when we checked in, the booking wasn't "Paid in advance", but the credit card that was used to pay for the room was only "paid" to reserve, not to book, even though the reservation stated it was booked and paid. So, there was a mix up when checking in regarding the payment method which only needed to be updated so that I could check in for us (verbally authorized by the person who made the reservation per the front desk's request), following which the payment on file could no longer be used. I was added on the reservation to check us in, not created on a new booking. The confusion and mix up was caused due to a confusing rule about booking in advance vs booking after payment, so be careful when reserving a room here.

Following that, the room was lovely, however, our room keys weren't opening the doors, due to a jame, so someone from the front desk needed to let us in after we went back downstairs to inform them of the lockout.

After settling in, we attempted to find the ice machine, which there were no signs for, and it wasn't mentioned during check in that the ice machine was in the same spot as the coffee machine/pantry, on the second floor. So it took us some time from our third-floor room to find the ice machine. We would have called down to the front desk to ask where it was, but we assumed there was one on each floor, and the phone in our room had no cord and didn't seem to work, so we thought we'd find it ourselves.

Also, we had breakfast in the hotel's breakfast restaurant, and the food was very good, but it was an additional cost for the food ordered. Their room service is also only available for breakfast, so if you want to order room service after 12pm, you must go out to eat because room service for food isn't available.

They do have valet parking which is $55 per night, so if you are coming with your own car, you can choose to valet it, or take it to the garage next door, to pay for parking per hour. There is also street parking which is free on Sundays and costs $1.25 per hour, which is also parking for the Assembly Row shopping center.

Overall it was a very nice experience, although getting around and checking in is a bit confusing and time-consuming. Their pool was nice and cozy, too, but wasn't meant for diving, but for laps...
