So I'll start with the good: The space seems clean and the amenities are wonderful. I did an hour long session in the infrared sauna and also did a cold plunge session. I feel amazing after doing it. I found the rooms to be really nice and the sauna and cold plunge worked great. The water in the cold plunge was 50 degrees fahrenheit and it was a very bracing and invigorating experience. I had ten minutes in the room and did three separate plunges during that time. The water seemed clean. They had a shower that they recommended you use before, which was nice. And they had plenty of towels and bathmats.
The infrared sauna was in it's own room as well. It got really hot, which was just what I wanted. The room was spacious and also had towels, a shower, soap, shampoo, conditioner facewash, and even shower caps (not needed for me since I'm bald, but a very nice touch.)
Also good was part of the service. Stay tuned because the bad stuff is the other part of the service. The girl who answered the phone when I made the booking and who was the one who greeted me was a nice woman named Tara. She had glasses, braids and dark skin. I'm being specific because I never was introduced to her but I heard someone else call her Tara. She was very nice and friendly. She greeted me with a smile, asked me some questions and was really helpful. She was great on the phone and great in person, very nice and welcoming.
Here comes the bad: The other person who was the one who showed me the facilities was not so nice. I think her name was Jackie, but I don't know for sure. She is white, has a tattoo on her neck and maybe dreadlocks, hard to tell because her hair was drawn up. She was the person who showed me the facilities. She spoke way too fast and only briefly covered some things. There were lots of things that I didn't know, like what was the ipad for? Was it to play music? Did it connect to the speakers in the sauna? Would my phone connect to the speakers in the sauna? I asked her a few questions and she seemed genuinely frustrated that I was interrupting her and annoyed that I was taking up too much time. I got the sense that she wanted me to get in and get out as soon as possible. It prevented me from asking more questions. She really put a damper on the whole appointment.
Overall I got what I wanted as I felt good after and I loved most of the experience. But the one member of the staff I spent the most time with really did not put me at ease. I'm bummed because I've been looking for something like this and it's somewhat close to...
Read moreOne of the worst customer service I have received ever. This is my first time ever writing any review for any business. Let alone local businesses. I have been to this place over a year now consistently but today will be last time until I hear from the Owner. Jacqueline the manager is worst person to deal with, there are several reviews here of her customer service. Please scroll down for other reviews so as you as a customer don’t think I am making this up. She was rude and condescending with us. I felt like if we weren’t a minority I don’t think she would talk to us that way. As I had stated I had been there before n I had booked my appoint as usual via phone call due to it’s being a couples sauna. . When I get there on time, their was one customer service person who stated if I could wait for sec, I decided to step outside n when I got back she was getting ready to put us in wrong room. I told her please check the booking cause I had booked the bigger room, she checked her appointment n stated it’s not correct. I told her this had happen to me before n I refuse the service if I can’t get into the correct room. She said no worries n was kind enough to help us. 15 mins before our service was over Jacqueline (manager) knocked on us to say we need to hurry up cause someone else is waiting. We weren’t done with our service she comes back again to knock on our door to rush us out. When I told her please don’t rush us out n explain to her what happen, she started talking over me n say people are waiting n I am wasting my time here. Very Very condescending. Once again I am not alone here, reviews below has stated same thing about her experience with other customers. I also decide leave a comment on IG but they deleted my comment. It shows how they deal with customer complaints instead of reaching out they hide what happens. Very...
Read moreI visited Sweathouz recently and had high hopes. If you’re new to the “sauna spa” concept, you might like it here. However, I can’t help but compare it to the other saunas I’ve visited in the past, and Sweathouz just doesn’t do it for me.
The aesthetic feels like a hospital.
They are super stingy with the towels.
Water isn’t included. They charge an arm and a leg for a bottle.
They have annoyingly large and bright timers in each room which count down by the second. I get that you need some indicator of how much time is left, but who can relax when there’s a constantly visible timer counting down in your face?
When I booked my appointment over the phone, I told them there would be two of us, and they said the extra person would cost $20. When I arrived a week later, they told me the price had gone up to $30. They refused to honor the price I had been given over the phone. Bait and switch.
Speaking of the price: I asked why it’s an additional $30 to bring someone (on top of the $30-50 you’re already paying for the visit): I was told it’s for the “towels and stuff” - so you’re paying an additional $30 for a SINGLE EXTRA TOWEL. Yikes.
The speakers and bluetooth were not working in our sauna room - the desk staff said it’s because they were having problems with it being too loud.
The flooring in the sauna itself was cheap laminate which was already bubbling/peeling up from the floor.
Overall I don’t feel they are delivering an experience which is on par with the premium price that’s being asked.
If they could make the place feel/look less “cheap”, include water, provide robes & additional towels, get rid of the annoying timers, make the guest add-on price more reasonable, and fix the music, then I’d probably be here...
