Taco Loco Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Somerville

We arrived around 9pm +/- and there was nobody. The ladies at the counter were patient with me as I asked about the various options and what type of meat in some of the display as they weren’t labeled. We ordered a M size burrito $10 for my teenager but even though the tortilla looked big he wasn’t filled after finishing… so next time we’ll try a L size. I had delicious beef stew with rice and yuca on the side for $15- they charge a la carte so depending on what you order, the price goes up.

The ambience is lovely but we didn’t get to enjoy as we ordered to go. 4 star because I asked several times if the food (from the ready to go food bar) was hot; and they promised me it was. Well, it wasn’t when I tucked in just 5 mins later in my car. I was disappointed - I don’t enjoy room temperature food. I wish they had just pop in the microwave to warm it up, especially I inquired specifically.

Also, it would be nice to have the prices posted. Is it $8.99 for main course like meat dish, and another $2.99 per side? I’m just wild guessing but it would be nice to know instead of being surprised when I pay. Or if I had known the prices, I might have ordered more.

The bathroom is locked to reserve for customers only which may be why it’s clean :)

We only saw street parking which were all taken so not sure what it’ll be like during rush...

First time as an adult going to this location, went way back when I was kid. The layout is completely different. We walked in and stood in front of the food area and no one helped us or even bothered to say hello. We stood there for a few minutes before we saw a line begin to formulate near the cashier. We moved since no one was attending us, waited in line for this woman picture below to say I don’t handle the food I just do the money. She said we had to go back, that’s fine… our order gets put in, The same woman is preparing a to go order and she’s speaking with us…. So she does handle food instead of taking just orders. That’s fine. We asked her name cause she was very rude and sarcastic she said I don’t need to tell you. I took a picture and she said that’s illegal, when I snapped the photo for the purpose of this review. There was a miscommunication and I had to be charged twice, I asked for my receipts she said I had that option on the screen. If I would have known that, I would have selected that option, no need for that comment. On the receipt it said Maritza but she said that’s not her name, I’d like to speak to the manager. She called my mom ignorant and she was speaking trash about us in Spanish to her coworkers not thinking we could speak it…...

First of all, their food made my boyfriend and I sick. No, not COVID symptoms. Immediate bowel pains 10 minutes after eating tacos. Not sure where all these great reviews are coming from. A lot of people don’t know what authentic Mexican food taste like apparently lol. Possibly the WORST Mexican food I’ve ever had. Ordered a chicken taco and 3 steak. The chicken was atrocious. It was white, bland, no FLAVOR and extremely dry. I took one bite and spit it out. Forcing myself to chew it while tasting the rubbery, unseasoned, metallic taste of bland chicken- was not happening. I threw it out. The fact someone tasted this and STILL SERVED It - I wouldn’t trust anything else off this menu. Chicken tasted like it was someone’s first time making it and I got stuck as the taste tester. This isn’t edible. I make better chicken at home. I would’ve liked to return the food completely and receive a refund but I truly did not want to ruin their night, although buying from here ruined mine. I knew as soon as I bit that taco, the restaurant couldn’t be trusted. That chicken screams stomach ache and food poisoning....
