Santarpio's Pizza — Restaurant in Boston

HORRIBLE service. I used this restaurants OWN website to place an order at 8:20 PM, it rerouted automatically through DoorDash, which I don't normally use because it's always problematic, and lo and behold the doordash driver stole my order. I realized she was stealing it when I noticed she's in revere and I'm currently in southie two hours after the order was placed. That is over fifty dollars worth of food stolen by Ana on door dash. Since I placed the order through the restaurant's own website, I called them back directly in order to seek a refund and the individual who answered the phone hung up on my face initially Without providing a door dash confirmation number or anything. When I called back again to at least get the DoorDash order confirmation number I was treated like I was the problem. I read somewhere that their workers are "grumpy" as if it's a thing, but grumpy is neither cute or acceptable when you're owed either fifty dollars or two pizzas. I finally got a hold of doordash who would not come to grips with the fact that their driver was stealing and tried to make me wait an additional fifteen minutes just to get a refund after already waiting 2.5 hours. Finally got them to give me a refund but have to wait 5 to 7 business days for it to appear in my account 🙄 which is nothing but a nuisance to me and there's no food at 10:30 at night and I have to find another restaurant. Santapios, if you're gonna have a service running your deliveries through your own website

I love Santarpio’s! Truly one of my favorite restaurants in Boston. No place quite like it. I’m biased; I come here a lot. Sometimes there’s no wait, and other times there is a line. Regardless, the trip is always worth it.

As you enter the building, to your right, you are immediately invited by the scents of sizzling kabobs of fresh barbecue. To the left, you see tables and booths cozied up with wood paneling and an assortment of Tom Brady and Mike Tyson posters. The only way to describe the ambiance is “very Boston.” A server brings you to your table, and you grab a seat, drink a beer, order some pizza and barbecue, and hang out like the townie you always wanted to be.

I highly recommend the cheese and pepperoni pizzas and the sausage. Pizza is amazing, there is something so special about their sauce and cheese blend. Plus, the toppings are under the cheese! They also have this cornmeal at the bottom of the pizza, which provides a satisfying mouthfeel.

I know it sounds atypical to have barbecue with pizza, but trust me, it works. It comes with in-house made bread and cherry peppers, which are totally unique. I’ve had various barbecue here (steak, lamb, etc), but the sausage is my favorite. It’s got a slightly spicy flavor profile that complements the fattiness of the pork. Also, with the way they cook it, there’s a nice char on the casing.

Food is great. Wait staff is great. Vibes are great. Value is great. 10/10. Wanna hang out? I’ll meet you at...

Food: One of the worst pizza I have ever eaten. I ordered the chicken and shrimp pizza and having eaten pizzas in several countries, this was the worst pizza. The pizza was soggy, floppy and tasteless. Too much sauce on the base and I couldn't even lift the slice in it's entirety. Unfortunately this place seems to be very highly rated and this really brings us to question if competency and authenticity of the reviewers. Falling under pressure to rate an already highly rated place highly is the very unfortunate reality of the times we are living in. And this is not restricted to just the food reviews, this mob mentality is evident in every walk of our lives. In any case, worst pizza, never going back again. Service: Had to Wait for almost 30 minuets outside their restaurant to be seated and then it took another 15 minutes for our waiter to attend our table. When we finally got the menu, the waiter was immediately ready to take our order without giving us any time to go through the menu. Then we had to wait for another 30 minutes or more to receive our pizza. We couldn't finish the pizza and wanted to take the leftovers and requested for a box. The waiteress forgot the box. The tables are very tightly packed in a very small area. Chairs are hard and small in size. Rating: 1/5

Atmosphere: It was lively, filled with people coming in and out but poor aesthetic appeal. Rating: 3/5
