Sweet Sip — Restaurant in Boston

My guest and I were shocked and disappointed by the customer service we received during our last visit. I specifically asked if two flavors of rolled ice cream could be combined in one cup, and was told yes. The flavors I ordered were passion fruit and birthday cake. However, when I received my order, there was barely any sign of passion fruit ice cream in taste and appearance. Instead, the cup was almost entirely birthday cake, identifiable by the sprinkles throughout every roll.

When I raised this issue with two staff members, it took them quite some time to suggest a solution. To my surprise, rather than remaking the order correctly, they took back the cup I had already tasted from—where the rolls had already started losing shape—and simply splashed passion fruit syrup over the top before handing it back to me.

This was unsanitary, unprofessional, and insulting. Syrup splattered on top of birthday cake ice cream is not equivalent to the $7.50 passion fruit ice cream I had ordered and paid for. In line with basic food service standards, the order should have been remade properly instead of being dismissed in this demeaning way. We stopped by as we were driving for some treats. Not only are they very rude, stand-off-inch, it’s horrible service, and very poor attitude! The girl is talking right over our rolled up ice cream as she is making it, and you can tell get mouth is filled with saliva in it. At some point I thought her spit was going to fall into the rolled up ice cream. She stopped speaking when she noticed I was paying attention. And we had to request we get what we paid for, I clearly pointed out what we wanted, which clearly has the picture that goes with the ice cream order. When I pointed it to the lady that my order does not look like the picture in there menu, that I showed her when we were ordering. she rudely replied we have to ask for it. No maam, I paid the full price that includes the toppings so why would I have to ask you to serve me what I paid for??? So, I guess if you come here, pay attention so your sweet doesn’t end up with spit in it, and that you get what you pay for. This was my first time visiting this place and...

Yummy! Rolled ice cream... delish!

I edited this review because even though the rolled ice cream is still good, the service has been challenging.

(+) Their hours are later than our other Boba friends who we still love (+) The rolled ice cream concept is great and fun to watch (+) When they get it right, the food is good.

(-) Only congested street and tiny spot lot parking (-) You have to plan extra time in your errand plans (or simply have flexible timing) because the wait time has been increasing longer even when the customer flow is slow (-) I'm so mad that the waffles are so yummy because when they get it right, it's great. Otherwise, I've received them hard/overcooked, cold (while waiting for the rest of my order, they don't have a warmer) OR EVEN one time I just watched a staffer put the puff waffle bits in a bag and gave it to me in pieces when she couldn't figure out the maker. I just took the bag and left because I didn't have the energy to explain how wrong that was... but the waffles were...
