I would give the place above 3 stars but few things I needed to point out. My first time in the place did not feel of a friendly atmosphere if you're an outsider. They just tell you to take a seat anywhere where tables were still a bit dirty. Food was good, the tamales were on point and great but service was lacking. The staff only cared about flirting with other customers where they paid no attention to anyone else. I find it unprofessional that they stand and only attend to certain tables while you try to get their attention. I did not want to be rude no my friends to speak very loud to get their attention. I ordered more stuff to go, they gave the bill but we sat there waiting for the food to take home while it was just sitting on the back counter for almost 10 minutes. Then my friend finally spoke out and got their attention which they had no clue as to...
Read moreEverything I've had here is good, even with such a large menu. One of the best/most extensive beverage menus I've ever seen (and everything I've tried on it so far is great). Chicharrón is great here, tortas and special plates are really good. Also recommend the sangria pitcher if you're with a group. Very nice yet unpretentious place. Maybe my favorite sit-down place around allston/Brighton/brookline if not at least in my top 3. Great place to eat in the area before a concert or a drink at the sil.
I keep seeing complaints in the more negative reviews about ordering nachos, I think they are expecting some sort of taco bell or tex-mex style nachos - this is not that type of establishment. This is a place to get real horchata and flautas and chilaquiles, sometimes still slightly "americanized" to meet local preferences. People need to...
Read moreI moved here from Los Angeles, having grown up on authenic mexican food, I have been craving tacos and other dishes that taste like home.
I always walk by this place and wanted to give it a try. Im a simple guy, so I just wanted some tacos, I got a steak, chicken, and fish tacos. I thought it closed at 10 PM, so I arrived at 8 PM, but they close at 9 PM. They let me sit down and order before the kitchen closed. And the waitress came and asked me if I wanted more before it closed. And then just told me to take my time eating, that there was no rush on me leaving. very friendly.
Taste - amazing! Best auteinic mexican food in the Boston area outside of Eastie! Love the salsas, both the reglar. I think this will become a weekly...
