I left a 3 star in 2022. Today I'm going down again. I like the service and prices of this place but i purchased the works, protect all, wheels, tires, and four rubber matts. Something was wrong os disappointing. The car is waxed but it was not washed well. There are streaks, chunks that are easily removed by me, the rims were pretty filthy. Worth noting one is damaged. Inside i paid extra for the interior shining, which doesn't include leather which is okay. Vacuum was okay... Windows good on interior but outside, water spots, dust, inside doors lacks attention and just places inside maybe not wiped at all. I also asked for a sticker to be removed (they said they'd try, and did not) mostly disappointed about the rims and waterspots that are dusty. My car came out around the same time as an express. I didn't think much of it but ill have to watch it next time. Certainly worth the base $37 or so but all addons were disappointing. I then went inside and spent $40 on other accessories.... That's awkward especially since i may take my car somewhere else.. in days. I think it waa $85 (excluding addons from inside) very far from the full @ $37.5. disappointed. I was recognized by an employee, too. So im surprised at this, especially after brushing my last experience off. Car was detailed a couple months ago so not filthy either....
Read moreI usually do not write reviews, especially not negative. If I have a complaint, I speak to the service provider directly and give them the chance to fix it. Last time I tried that and they did not care. I have been using this car wash for many years, but I had a different car and was told, no you were never here before. Today, I paid $76 for interior and exterior car wash. I asked the person taking the order to please not slam the car matts against a post and to just wash them. She rolled her eyes at me and said that it what they do with all matts. As I watched the car go through the wash, my brand new Weathertech mats were kicked across the floor to be "washed". This person could not pick up the mats to take them in. After the car came through the wash they placed wet matts in the car, "waved" a cloth across the car and walked away. I lifted the matts and saw that the car was never vacuumed underneath. Matts were still dirty, just wet from a rinse, if you can call it that. Nothing else was wiped, glass or inside the car. Since they charged me for a service that they did not provide, I will be contacting my credit card to get...
Read moreThis fine establishment has been gracing the streets of Allston since long before my time. A cruel irony, then, that I did not employ its car washing service during the years I lived in Allston. Sure, I had gotten gas here before, perhaps vacuumed out my car once or twice.
But never before have I experienced such a uniquely bizarre festival of froth that is the Allston Automatic Car Wash. It was almost like entering the killer clown ride at your local Disney knock-off theme park. The color and decor was just boring enough to be spooky. I felt like I had stepped into a time portal and the car wash remained unchanged since 1958. Most car wash places these days will try to wow the customer with dramatic lighting and exciting glowing signs. Not Allston Car Wash. In the cold, wet darkness, your car is slapped over and over by no fewer than two dozen rotating and gyrating pieces of tattered felt. And after it comes to a grand blowout finale, you are gently carried back out into the dirty and impure streets; an almost erotic laying on of hands by an efficient and friendly crew to wipe away every last...
