The elevator going up is so cool!! Take a video if you want, but do it going up as the elevators down are different. Wish i knew that in advance. The Beacon (restaurant/bar) at View Boston is ok. Service was great, and the food was alright. Got the orecchiette + lobster add-on. Got farfalle instead, but I just wanted to show how much lobster comes with it here by putting what I could on the side. The couches outside make up a cute seating area. They had not 1 but 2 suntory Japanese whiskey, so that was impressive. Was good for a one-time experience as a local, likely won't be back until I'm showing an out-of-towner. Even then, I'd probably skip the bistro bites and just do drinks at Stratus (cocktails & snacks) to show more of an elevated dining experience elsewhere. Definitely tourist-facing business model w/ the requirement to get a View ticket, but I can see many locals coming in at least to check it out. Please note, this is bistro bites- not Top of The Hub. Some reviewers may have been expecting the past dining vibe, and that is not the case right now... level set expectations & you'll have a nice time! The photo options are really cool. Check both of them out!! Reservations late July for 7:45pm worked nicely. Cocktails at Stratus for the golden hour, then had dinner watching the sunset over the city. Witnessed full city lights by dessert.

I regret to say that my recent visit to The Beacon at View in Boston was disappointing. We ordered the Spirit-Free Dining for two people, which included the Baked Stuffed Clams. Unfortunately, one of the clams was severely overcooked to the point of being nearly inedible. When the server checked on us and asked if everything was satisfactory, we explained the issue, expecting a solution similar to what we've experienced in New York—where staff typically communicates with the kitchen to resolve such issues with great attitude. Shockingly, the server accused us of complaining only to seek a refund, insisting that we had eaten half of the burnt clam already. She defensively claimed that the clam was meant to be that hard and even suggested that the kitchen would affirm it was fine as is. No attempt was made to rectify the situation, and the server did not remove the spoiled food, nor did she offer any resolution. Her demeanor was off-putting throughout the meal. As we were preparing to enjoy the sunset and take photos, she abruptly dropped the bill on our table without prompting, seemingly trying to rush us out. This was among the worst service I have ever encountered. I believe if you are confident in your food, there's no need to superficially ask if everything is alright without being willing to address the issues presented.

I have never felt so unwelcome in any restaurant before. My daughter wanted go to the View at the Prudential for her birthday and we stopped at the restaurant to get her something to eat. Very aggressive server the kind you expect at like TGIFRIDAYS, my daughter got pizza and my husband and I ordered an adult beverage each. After looking over the limited menu we decided we weren't in the mood for any of the offerings. This did not sit well with the server who then decided he wasn't gonna make any money off of us so he didn't need to be polite or provide good service. He slammed the check on the table while my daughter was only halfway through her pizza even though he knew it was her birthday, he didn't even aak if she wanted dessert. Anyway I ordered another drink and dessert although we felt uncomfortable. I have been a server, bartender and restaurant manager and was trained to treat every guest the same regardless of whether they spend $1 or $10,000. I tipped 30% like I always do and would've tipped more if the service I had received had been better and not so judgemental. I will never set foot in there again. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else and then just go...
