We bought some cheese few days ago. They gave us it in two packages , both reporting expiration dates April 17. Yesterday it was March 28 and we opened the two packages. One of them showed some signs of mold, the other one was 40% mold covered. Because they are within expiration date ( another 16 days untill “expiration date”) we returned them to the store. We discovered they are not refundable due to their policy as the two packages had been unwrapped. Of course, you cannot see the mold if you do not unwrap them as they are wrapped in paper that doesn’t allow to see through it. They tried even to say that their fridges are better than customers’ fridges (even though we have best Whirpool branded and well functioning fridge). It is worth saying that whatever grocery stores usually make changes or refund when this happens. What is then the meaning of this review? It is simple, as they do not refund . Because their common packaging in the store may help produce the mold we found , their packaging doesn’t fit the expiration dates they report. So, in the future, we will have to buy very small amounts of our preferred cheese. You may even consider the idea of eating such cheese when you are still in the store if average customers’ fridges are not reliable (which is laughable of course ). We are trashing ours and it is sad because they were not cheap. Unfortunately, due to such “policy” of the store, our money was sent on a one way trip . Good to know ! (If their expiration dates are not guaranteed by their packaging they may either report earlier expirations or consult experts to improve their packaging materials and...
Read moreI have never been to an Olive Garden but if I imagined it, this would be the place. Corporate sterility. The server had absolutely no training. She was like a robot. And basically nonexistent. She didn’t know the menu at all and got my order wrong. I had to wait another 20 minutes for my food while everyone else’s food is getting cold waiting for mine to be delivered. No apology no acknowledgment, delivered by a runner. I ordered the lasagna thinking it would be safe. It was a layer of lasagna noodles that was bone dry with very little meat sauce on top. One thing I can say is the quality of the noodles was above average but that didn’t save the dish. I figured I could save it with some extra sauce but once again the waitress was nonexistent and never checked back on me. So I sat there with dry lasagna and everybody sat there with their cold food. There was no management doing table stops. The rest of the food although looked appealing was just sub-par. My daughter was considering having dessert, but before we could ask, the check was just dropped. (Lost sale) I have been in the restaurant business for over 30 years and I’ve owned eight restaurants in three states. I am pretty forgiving when I go out because this industry is hard but shame on Eatly for allowing this to happen and shame on me for choosing this restaurant. They should stick to running the market which they do very well. Who ever is leading there restaurant division, wake up!! If their...
Read moreI never write reviews, but I hope this saves another family from wasting their evening (and hundreds of dollars) like we did.
We had a 6:45pm Saturday reservation with our 3 kids. First red flag: they were already out of meatballs — a key part of the kids' spaghetti and meatballs. At 6:45. On a Saturday. At an Italian restaurant. How does that even happen?
We ordered the kids' spaghetti anyway because they were starving — only to be served completely undercooked pasta. When your hungry 3-year-old says “why is this so hard?” and refuses to eat it, that’s how bad it was.
We told our server. No apology. Instead, they took the dish away (why?). It then took 35 minutes to bring out a replacement. Repeated inquiries were met with “there are a lot of tickets,” as if correcting a kitchen mistake shouldn’t take priority. Meanwhile, the rest of our food came out — which we waited on because our kids still hadn’t eaten.
We asked for a manager. Her response? “We hard boil spaghetti and undercook it on purpose.” What?! Even if true (doubtful), why undercook pasta on the kids menu? Are toddlers clamoring for al dente?
In total, we spent $250 on a mediocre meal with awful service. No apology, no real ownership — just a comped $12 plate of spaghetti. Not worth it.
Skip this place. Go to Terra or one of the many other Italian spots in Boston that know how to cook pasta and treat guests...
