So bummed Zumes just isn’t the same anymore. Used to live in Charlestown and I took a detour while in the area to stop in. The staff was so incredibly rude I couldn’t even believe it. My breakfast sandwich was sooo dry that I could barely eat it, so I politely went to the side counter to ask for a pack of butter. I waited for the butter for 2-3 mins, not wanting to bother anyone, when I suddenly realized they were waiting for me at the register, to charge me 25 cents for a pack of butter. I’m not sure why they didn’t indicate to come that way… i was just standing, waiting, and so was the staff member. I was blown away - my sandwich was inedible, she knew it, and she was still unapologetic and charging me for butter. I absolutely want to support small business and the money wasn’t the issue, it was just the entire bizarre situation. What I hoped to be a relaxing stop for coffee was just uncomfortable and disappointing. Won’t be back unless it seems things have changed with...
Read moreOrdered a mint matcha tea latte for $4 + tax. It only comes in one size, a medium which is the standard 16oz. I was really excited to try this drink because it's mint and matcha. It's a combo that cannot go wrong. . . but it can go wrong and it did go wrong. Nothing on the actual flavors going wrong, it was more for this particular instance.
It was basically a watered-down-hint-of-matcha-and-mint milk. I paid $4 for milk?! I could have went across the street and bought a gallon and been more satisfied. With that said their matcha game is not strong. Their coffee game was a-okay.
I've been too spoiled with the coffee from my area and I know this place is one of few around the Charlestown area. However, they will have competition popping up very soon so I hope they are able to hone in on being well rounded with all their products. Until then I would pass up on their matcha and go for...
Read moreQuiche was bland and overpriced. Service left a lot to be desired, despite me saying that the order was to stay my food was squished into a to-go bag and my coffee was served in a to-go lid and dangerously hot. I rarely post reviews, but was surpremely disappointed in this place. I was expecting a quaint, locally owned coffee shop and what I found was a lackluster, overpriced, cramped coffee bar that had added $2 to all of its prices, perhaps because of the neighborhood and location. Charlestown...
