Dandy Dogs — Restaurant in Bothell

Look… I know it’s scummy to leave a bad review for a small business. But I just don’t feel right about this. I LOVE hotdogs and chili dogs. My husband and I go to The US food store all the time (This place is in the store’s parking lot), and every time we go I want to stop here and get a hotdog. But I actually cannot believe how expensive they are. A couple of times I have forgotten and gone back to check the menu because clearly I must have read it wrong. To add insult to injury, after spending over $10 on a chili dog, bag of chips and can of soda, you can go right into US foods and find all of the ingredients that they bought right there on the shelf for pennies on the dollar, Including a giant can of “Hotdog chili topping” which costs less than just one of their hotdogs. We bought the chili topping out of curiosity and confirmed it’s the same stuff, or at least very similar (and not good at all in my opinion). The people here are so so nice and I want to be their biggest fan. Even if they were charging four or five dollars for what’s basically a Ballpark brand hotdog With a scoop of canned chili and sprinkle of cheese topping on top, I would still eat there all the time. I just can’t bring myself to spend $8 for that. And Costco is right up the road with their $1.50 hotdogs, which I know isn’t fair because it’s a small business but still. This place is not a good deal if you are trying to find a place to fill up, and unfortunately not that tasty if you are just going there for a treat. I know stuff is expensive now, but when you factor in tax+tip it’s like $30 for two people who won’t...

Update May 2025: Still the best hot dogs on the eastside. To anyone complaining of a price increase: these are still less than a street dog in Seattle AND they are better produced. If you want Costco pricing then go to Costco, it is weird to compare them when it is not at all the same type of hot dog.

We finally visited this place a month ago and fell in love! I don't know what took us so long to come get a hot dog... Everything is amazing and seriously we get dogs, but really we come here for the baked beans! They are the best thing on the menu. The only thing I wish is that they stayed open later than 5pm. I'd love to come by and get some dinner on weekdays but I am not even off work until 5pm. So no...

My husband and I have driven by this little hot dog shack every time we pass through the plaza, and we finally decided to try this today. We got a Louisiana Red Hot Dog, with two lines of jalapeno mustard and grilled onions as toppings. We were also recommended to add the cole slaw as a topping, and it was absolutely delicious! The hot dog link was perfectly grilled, and the combination of the Louisiana link and the jalapeno mustard was burningly spicy.
