Another certified Boulder institution. From the awesome props hanging from the walls and ceilings, to the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere, and of course the delicious food, this place checks all the boxes for anyone wanting an authentic restaurant / bar feel with its own unique identity and history.
The food has always been excellent every time I've visited - I personally love their hot wings (the size of their wings might be the best/biggest in Boulder, not including the current chicken shortages / supply chain issues of 2020-2021). Their curly fries are always crisped and seasoned to perfection, and their chicken club sandwich NEVER disappoints. The line cooks there work their * off every night and definitely deserve any and all tips you may want to give them.
This place was a staple in my college diet when I lived in Williams Village - despite a heavy college kid presence during the school year, it is absolutely worth a visit. They also host fun events like Trike nights, occasional live music, and watch parties for college and professional sports. It is one of the best places in Boulder to watch sports in my opinion because a) they have ample TV's located in most parts of the establishment, and b) because it is a self-serve / self-seat, meaning you can be as open or reclusive as you are feeling that day.
This place is quite literally one of the few remaining vestiges of what Boulder used to be - free, weird, and welcoming to any and all who passes through its doors. It is my belief that the second this place closes, Boulder will have lost its identity and qualities that made it unique.
If you happen to be traveling on US-36 / passing through Boulder, do yourself a favor and try this place out.
Oh, and one last thing - be very mindful when trying to locate the bathrooms. Gags like that are very hard to come by in today's day and age. You'll understand why...
Read moreYesterday, on April 7th, around 2:30 pm, my family and I visited your restaurant to grab some food. We were attended to by a waitress who wore glasses and was extremely unprofessional and rude. Although there were a lot of people watching the game at that time, when we approached the counter to place our order, there was no one else behind us. You can verify this by checking the cameras. We had an idea of what we wanted to order, but we wanted to double-check the menu. When I asked where the menus were, the waitress replied that they were around the corner. However, I noticed that there was a menu on the table in front of her, so I asked if that was the correct menu. She replied, "That menu is for people who already know what they're going to get."
We decided to order some chicken tenders and an order of chicken wings, although I wanted to order more food. However, due to the waitress's behavior and her trying to hurry us up, we decided to order only those items. When she asked how many chicken wings we wanted, she gave us an attitude. She never asked me if I wanted the food for dining in or for takeout, so I had to tell the kitchen staff to pack it in a box for takeout. I sarcastically mentioned to her that she was providing great customer service, to which she replied, "Oh yeah, thank you very much." Your restaurant has immense potential, however, the customer service has been a major letdown. I would be more than happy to recommend your restaurant to my warm market, but until the customer service is improved, I'm afraid I...
Read moreI found this place via Yelp, when I was looking for a place for dinner in Boulder, that served Rocky Mountain oysters. The place is pretty huge. My boyfriend and I arrived on a Sunday night at around 7 and it wasn’t too busy. It’s self service - you order at the counter, grab a table, and they’ll announce your name over the PA system once your order is ready.
We ordered wings, which were good, and the Rocky Mountain oysters, which I didn’t really like. It didn’t really taste like anything; just fried bits of something weirdly textured/crunchy. I’m still glad I tried it though, because now I’ll never have to order it again. Didn’t seem like anybody else was ordering this though. For my entree, I had the chipotle chicken sammie (charbroiled chicken breast , chipotle pepper, mayo, bacon, pepper - jack cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle on a toasted bun). It wasn’t anything special: just a chicken sammie that was pretty greasy. I did enjoy the curly fries though.
Overall, I think we ordered too much fried food. The sandwiches are already pretty greasy so I feel like you should order something non-fried to balance it out. I recommend...
