The peach/berry cake was very good. The Americano was not so ok, watery and bearly warm. Maybe drip not Americano, because it came from the back awfully quick when the cashier said she was going back to get my drink. Maybe coffee is more of an afterthought to go with the bakery items. The most frustrating part, and why I won't return, is the way my issue with the burrito was just ignored/dismissed by the owner. I ordered the chorizo burrito. When I unwrapped it and saw the tortilla and broke off a small bite of that, I was really excited. It was perfectly buttery & crisp. Then I cut into the burrito to find a bunch of beans falling out. Very little anything else. Unfortunately, I cannot eat beans. I double checked the menu to make sure I hadn't missed seeing beans as an ingredient, then I looked for the chorizo in the burrito. No beans listed as ingredients, and I really couldn't find any sausage. When, I believe to be the owner walked outside, I asked "are there supposed to be beans in the sausage burrito" when she said "yes" in an overly patronizing way, I politely expressed my disappointment with a smile and wrapped up the burrito. She hurried inside without any effort to offer a refund or alternative. Should I have known there would be beans in a chorizo burrito? Could she have had a description of the ingredients like she does everything else on their cafe menu? Usually I don't run into beans in a meat burrito. I assumed since I ordered the chorizo burrito, not the vegetarian burrito, chorizo would have been the protein, but if there was sausage in there I couldn't detect it when I looked inside. I guess the beans being the primary ingredient was a cheaper way out. Really disappointing, because I was pretty excited when I learned about this place and made the drive from Broomfield this morning. $10 in the compost & recycling bins.đ
Thank you for your reply. I do appreciate the refund for the burrito. But I also think it's important to note that none of your menus (website, outside, and inside) state the ingredients for the chorizo burrito, and again, your other menu items are very thoroughly described in all of them. And, when you came out a second time, and I showed you the uneaten burrito and politely asked how to dispose of it. You simply told me to throw it in the compost bin and went inside. As MOD, I would think if a customer was throwing away a whole burrito, I would be concerned as to why, was there a problem, and inquire what the problem is. My guess is that most people don't spend money on food just to throw it away for no reason. Again, thank you for the refund, but trying to put it back on me that you weren't aware of my not being satisfied is not being...
Read moreWe hand-selected Shamane's Bake Shoppe from an entire list of bakeries to create our dream wedding cake for our Winter Wonderland Wedding in January. We had previously tasted a wedding cake Shamane had made for my brother's wedding several years prior, and we remembered how delicious it was. We had a wonderful cake-tasting meeting with Shamane at her bakery in Boulder, sampling six different flavors of cake (all were delicious, moist, rich, and very edible). We chose our top three flavors (Almond Raspberry, Gingerbread Caramel, Lemon Ricotta) and couldn't have been happier with how grand the flavoring turned out to be. We told Shamane exactly what we wanted for the design of the cake - Three Tier, White Buttercream Icing and Fondant Icing with Draping. We also asked for Sugared "Frosted" Berries to accent. Shamane is truly a wonderful person. She is sweet, thoughtful, welcoming and an absolute pleasure to work with. She is also an extraordinary pastry chef. She was a great asset to our wedding team. Our wedding day took place during a beautiful January snow storm (perfect for our theme) and Shamane made quite the exciting, snowy drive from Boulder to Littleton to deliver our cake. She was perfectly timed, and the moment we saw the cake, we were blown away. It was more magnificent, elegant and beautiful than we were expecting, and we already knew it was going to be gorgeous :) We received so many compliments from our guests, saying it was the most beautiful wedding cake they have ever seen and how delicious it was. It definitely was the most beautiful, unique wedding cake we've ever seen, and it truly was our dream cake in reality. The design was definitely "us" and what exactly we wanted. The taste was impeccable and the best flavor/texture we've ever had. We are beyond pleased with Shamane and the beautiful Winter Wonderland Fairytale Wedding Cake she created for us. Shamane sent a very nice card after our wedding and is making us a fresh cake tier in our favorite flavor for our First Anniversary. She knows how to make her clients feel special. We highly recommend Shamane and Shamane's Bake Shoppe for any wedding, birthday, or other celebration you...
Read moreIâm from MN however weâre having a destination wedding in the Colorado mountains. Shamane and I emailed back and forth quite a few times about her doing our cake. When we came in to grab our cake tasting box (mind you we drove from MN to Colorado to have us try these cakes) she told me âwell I removed you from the schedule I donât have anything for youâ...okay well did you plan on telling me? She told me to come back the next day and sheâd do it (after we showed up for our scheduled time already), However the more my fiancĂ© and I talked about it in general she wasnât professional. We wanted a 3 tier cake. She tried to get us to do a 2 tier since weâre having a smaller wedding, even when I said no weâd still like a 3 tier for pictures and so people could take some home etc. she still tried to talk me into a 2 tier. She didnât tell me she removed me from the schedule. And my wedding is 3 MONTHS AWAY. But itâs okay cause sheâs sorryđ no itâs not bakeries want 6-8 months notice in order to do wedding cakes.
I gave her as much notice as she gave me that we arenât picking up the cake box (NONE).
She literally recommended me to a different bakery instead of working with me on a different design for the top tier since she didnât want to do a stain glass look. Button Rock Bakery , but man was this a blessing in disguise as when we went to that other bakery and explained what happened and that weâre getting married in 3 months the owners discussed it and said they would do our wedding cake and make an exception since they usually need an 8 month notice. AND theyâre gunna do the top tier stained glass because they said it isnât difficult and will stay as long as itâs done a specific way. And theyâre cakes are AMAZING and baked goods are so freaking good.
Donât waste your time or money here especially for wedding cakes.
ADDED: Covid wasnât a thing here in the very beginning of March. So donât play the...
