I’ve honestly never had an issue with Pollyeyes until our experience using their mobile ordering. Food is good but the customer service and communication could really use some work.

My sister asked us to pick up some breadsticks from Pollyeyes since she lives in Toledo and they no longer have a location. She placed the order online at 6:26 pm and received a confirmation email, which stated that her order would be ready by 7:15 pm. Her total was $21.50 and she paid online with a Mastercard.

We showed up around 6:50 pm to pick up the order (Yes, we showed up early, but had no problem waiting until 7:15 pm.) We let the girl at the counter know we had an order and she said, “our manager will be right with you.” The manager came over and said, “your card is expired so it didn’t go through” and we said “that’s weird, our card isn’t expired but can we just try to pay again here?” He let us pay, walked away, then came back and said “it’ll be 30-40 minutes.” We walked out for a second and then it dawned on us that we would be waiting another 40 minutes or so.

I decided to go back in and ask for a refund because there was no point in waiting that long for an order that was placed at 6:26 pm, especially since we had plans with my sister. The individual that came over to assist me said that there was “no way your order said it would be ready by 7:15 pm” because online orders take “almost 45 minutes” and that he recommended calling in next time because their online ordering “is kind of bad and never works.” He refunded us the total cost of food, but not the tip we left. Felt like I had to ask several times throughout our short conversation just for him to just give me my refund.

The food here is good, it’s just the lack of communication and customer service that stinks some days. Granted, maybe the staff was feeling overwhelmed this night but it just doesn’t make sense as to why they didn’t call us after we had placed the initial order, letting us know that there was an issue with our card. Expecting a customer to be fine with showing up when their order is supposed to be ready, only to let them know that there is an issue with the payment so they’ll have to wait another 40 minutes for their food, just doesn’t make sense. It would be a completely different situation if Pollyeyes didn’t know about the payment issue.

I’m glad we showed up a few minutes early and figured this out so we didn’t waste all night waiting. It’s frustrating that they didn’t think to call us when they knew our card didn’t go through, we never received a declined notice so we wouldn’t have known. I’ve never heard of a payment system accepting an “expired card” and still receiving a confirmation email. Taking a few seconds to call a customer would have made a world of a difference. If there are as many issues with your online ordering as the individual assisting me claimed, why not just do away with it? Seems like this would reduce much stress...

First off, if I could give this place zero stars I would. After quite the harrowing 3 hr journey thru snow, sleet, and freezing rain to get to BGSU for their open house the next day, I took my oldest daughter out for a quick bite to eat at around 7 PM on the Sunday before PresidentsDay. Initially, the encounter was basically routine. The waitress came and took our drink order. After returning with our drinks, we ordered 6 breadsticks with cheese and 2 dipping sauces (pizza and ranch). Additionally, she ordered a calzone with spinach, and I ordered a philly steak with a salad included (turns out later it wasn't included, but that really wasn't an issue). My food arrived after about a half hour, but the appetizer and my daughter's meal were nowhere to be found. I began to eat, thinking that the other ordered couldn't be that far behind. Unfortunately, I was sadly mistaken as I managed to finish my meal before the rest of the order came. After waiting a total of about 30 min without getting the rest of the order arriving, I decided to leave so that I could get my kid dinner elsewhere before any other restaurants closed. As we were trying to pay for the food I did eat, the waitress finally came out with the rest of the food. As I paid, she halfheartedly apologized, stating that they were very busy (never mind the fact that only half the tables were full and that there seemed to be routine foot traffic in and out for pickup orders). After walking my daughter to the car, I re-entered the restaurant to speak with a manager. I told him the issue, and he non-apologetically stated that the food took so long because they were busy (Again, they really were not that busy. Definitely seen far busier restaurants that were able to get orders out in a reasonable amount of time.). He asked me what he could do for me as though he was rather annoyed, and I asked at least for a partial refund. He gave me back 50% of the bill, and I quickly departed so that my daughter could eat her meal in the comfort of our hotel room. Apparently, this is a popular destination for those seeking a good meal at BGSU, but I don't think we will ever go back as that was probably one of the worst dining experiences I've had in years. Overall, the food was fine, but not at all worth that kind of wait. Service was horrendous. Not the way we wanted to start our trip to a place my kid plans on spending 4 yrs...

No offense however my first visit here since the parent restaurant was not open on the Sunday I visited. All I heard was greatness and I was quite hungry and looking forward to a great meal. Was told by a regular client of there's (we both happened to enter pkg lot same time), "go check out Pollyeyes on the Campus its exactly the same". Well, sadly, I was not impressed. I'd like to check out the original spelled differently "Paigliais"?? However this is my review for this location. Would like to share more details however, not enough room here. Waitress was cordial but, served others ahead of me. (Maybe more people means more tips in their {polly} eyes?)... I'm a great tipper especially since Covid. Don't underestimate single, older, ladies... Of course I left a more than fair tip, though she didn't deserve it. I will go back to tipping accordingly. Also, her comment to my request didn't surprise me for some of the youth today are truly under educated on courtesy, etiquette, manners, ethics and common sense. Im sure there will be some backlash. Its okay. I can take it. I know what I pay for. Maybe one day when I'm in your town again, I'll see about the main restaurant.

This is updated to accommodate your question as to the food. I gave it a 2 of 5 scale. And I can see how my comment "not impressed" could be thought to mean other things. It was ok, for the cost and time it took for a basic two item pizza, it was less than impressive. I will try something else off the menu whenever I make it to the...

Ordered a large breadstick, and got screwed over with a small order. It took an hour and a half for our two small pizzas, a small cheese, and a small Pollyeyes special. Not only did this establishment give food to people that came after us. But they full on left before we had our food. Not only did this junky so called “pizza place” ruin my afternoon, but I will never attend this establishment again. I understand if took 30 minutes for our food, but unless you have the mental capacity of a 5 year old it should not 1 hour and 30 minutes, for pizza that look like it came out of a run down gas station. Not to mention our breadstick order wasn’t right. Had to take the pizzas home, when they finally came to us, to salvage the short rest of the day we had, due to “Pollyeyes”. Took one bite and put it back, and closed up the box thinking,”I wasted an hour and a half of my life for this?”Was going to consider this lunch but by the time we got it, it would’ve been considered a midnight snack. Bowling Green ain’t got nothin’ on Toledo. #GoRockets. Edit: Not once did I talk about having my order online. People that came in the restaurant after us, not ordering online, got THERE food before us. I guess I was right about the mental capacity thing, you guys can’t even read. We took our food on the go because it took so long to get our food.

My husband and I ordered ONE pizza on a Friday night and I want to preface by saying I completely understand that if it’s busy delivery times can be unpredictable. We placed the order at 7:24 pm with an estimated delivery at 8:15. Around 8:40 I called because our pizza was still not delivered and was told that it was already in the car and on the way, it should be there in a few minutes. Around 9:05 it still hadn’t arrived so I called again just to be told that it was a Friday night and it was busy and their website isn’t always correct. And I told them I totally understand that and explained the situation, only to be told that my pizza was still at the store and they only had 1 driver so they were waiting for their driver to get back to pick it up and bring it to our house. I really hate posting bad reviews, especially for somewhere that we genuinely enjoy, so I messaged their Facebook page that night. They read it immediately and never responded. I gave them a day because it was later but never got anything back. So I’m just here to say that their customer service could be better and I’m very sadly disappointed.
