Not sure what is going on with Pizza Pub 516……? Visited a week ago for the first time in a while. Ordered a large Italian Spice Pie, which is my regular order. Menu price from last time I ordered was $21.80. That was a few months back, and I realize everything has inflated, but the new price is $27.25. This is an increase of $5.45, or 25%. I don’t know how many people’s wages have increased 25% ? So…..I ate the pie, and though overpriced, still was good enough that I again attempted to order another one this week on Thursday evening at about 8:00 p.m. I called several times, and couldn’t get an answer, so I called today (Friday) in the afternoon, and talked to a young lady that wasn’t sure what time they closed on Thursday evening, and she couldn’t give me a definitive answer, other than “sometimes we close early”, we are “short on help” etc. etc. I called back in a couple of hours and ordered my usual, talked to who I think was the same employee, and she stuttered around about how long before pickup…….umm…maybe 25 minutes ?……or umm…….30 minutes ?…….or maybe 45 minutes ? She couldn’t tell.me. So, I waited 45 minutes to be safe, only to go and pick up a pizza that was HALF the quantity of the same one I got a week earlier ! I wondered why the dining room was without ONE customer on a Friday at 4:15 p.m. ! I got my answer when I opened the box. The price has increased 25%, and the quantity of food and quality of help has went down the drain. They don’t know what time they close, can’t give you an order finish time, and are night and day in quality and...
Read moreWhen I found out another pizza place moved into the beloved "Myle's Pizza" location ... I had to try it. Unfortunately, the only thing I found was a poor attempt at duplicating "Myle's" pizza. With what tasted like lower quality ingredients, at the same prices ... I'd call it a swing and a miss. Mind you, I haven't returned after my visit shortly after they opened, but looking at realistic reviews (not puff pieces), they haven't changed.
They mimic "Myle's" with topping quantity and pie overall thickness, making the slices filling ... but that didn't make me feel any less bamboozled. I walked away from a pizza after a slice and a half of disappointment, not feeling it was worth taking with me. That says alot! I'd rather buy a $5 DiGiorno.
I would never turn down a free pizza, but if this pizza is still as it was ... HARD PASS
Look up "HALF TIME PIZZA" if you're in the area, and looking for a positively MEMORABLE pizza. "HALF TIME PIZZA" is OWNED and operated by someone that was staff and family of "Myle's", and has created a whole knew monster, with some likenesses to the well loved and missed "Myle's Pizza". If that's too far (30m from BG) Go to pisanello's pizza, they have crappy parking but a good overall pizza, and wonderful hand made stuffed breadsticks.
Disregard ANYONE that uses "Myle's" name when positively commenting on this for anything other than it's...
Read moreThis is a very good pizza place in Bowling Green on the western edge of BGSU campus and the eastern edge of the central business district. This shop shares a building with two other businesses (a Pita Pit and a Subway). The city parking lot in the back is very convenient.
There is both indoor and outdoor seating at this restaurant. During our visit on a Sunday evening, it was not busy and so we decided to sit inside. The dining room was perhaps a bit dark but was spacious and comfortable. Social distancing was no problem. Our server did a great job taking care of us.
Pizza was unquestionably the menu feature. We chose the Greek Pizza. This featured pesto sauce, grilled chicken strips, bacon bits, tomato slices, red onions, Kalamata olives and a three-cheese blend topped with Feta. This was presented with a toasty brown top. The pizza featured an excellent taste, but was very rich. We ordered the eight-slice size and brought five pieces home.
The cost was not cheap on the surface. The pizza was $23 USD. With drinks, tax and tip, our final bill was $33. At $16.50 per person, this was not a bad deal, especially if it is considered that there were two additional meals worth of pizza brought home. I would not hesitate to recommend this place if someone wanted pizza in...
