I had a take-out order that I was taking back home with me after work. I was told it would be about 30 minutes and they were on-time with that - very much appreciated! The woman at the counter was very kind and courteous - was exceptional service for the brief time I was there. More than anything I was excited that there's an Indian restaurant in BG!
I ordered our typical go-to dishes to gauge the quality of the food - Chicken Tikka Masala (Medium) and Saag Paneer (Hot). We also ordered some Garlic Naan and Paneer Kulcha to try the breads in addition to their rice.
I had to take the food for the 30-minute drive home, but it was still very warm (big plus for the carryout containers). The bread had cooled a bit, but not much to be done there. The first thing I noticed was the full piece of star anise in the rice! They are not skimping on the seasoning of their food, and it showed. The rice was well cooked and the mild seasonings complemented the curries very nicely.
Overall, good curries - I wouldn't say they were the best I have ever had, but they were well prepared. My two critiques were that the Saag was too heavily salted, and the Masala was more cream-heavy for my tastes. The "Hot" level was just the right level of heat for me - spicy for most palates, but not overwhelming the flavors of the saag. The "Medium" spice-level on the Masala didn't feel like a proper step down. While it was flavorful, I didn't get much heat on the palate (probably from the cream of the curry mellowing the spices).
The naan was quite good too - I much preferred the garlic naan - very fresh garlic resulted in a nice bite, that balanced with the herbs and butter well.
All-in-all - we'll be back for more. They have an impressive menu for just starting out. I can't wait to try more of the curries, and perhaps some biryani as well. I plan on coming to a lunch buffet over the weekend to try a variety of their dishes. Keep up...

From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, perfect for any occasion. But the real highlight? The food! It’s absolutely amazing. Read moreI really want The Curry Lounge to succeed. Their take out is fantastic and we love it and would give that part of their service 5 stars. But I just had their mid-week buffet and it was so very bad. I am assuming the owners will read this review, so here is how to improve: Play music. The place was dead quiet, I could hear the person behind me chewing with their mouth open, the guy at the next table gagging on his snot. The ambience was terrible. Space people out in the available area. Don't sit everybody in one clump, space the tables out. There are a lot of hard surfaces in this space so sound will reverb, but spacing people out will improve that a little bit. Put food on the buffet. When we got there very little food was left on the buffet. There was no more chicken in the chicken curry, the naan was gone, and several items were cold. The taste is good, but there needs to be food available in order to actually taste it. I asked the server if more naan was coming out and he said yes, but then nothing ever came. For reference, we were there from noon to 12:30 on a Monday. This wasn't a case of fringe lunch hours. Follow through on items ordered. My wife ordered a mango lassie, it never came. That could've been a few more dollars in your pocket!
Again, I want you to succeed - its been many years in the making to have a curry house in BG. Please make these minor adjustments to ensure your...
