This time it's a very weird experience. I went there with my friends. Most of my friends didn't visit the place earlier and asked me for food item suggestions in front of the waiter as I went there 7/8 times before that visit. So my friends were asking me about the spice levels of 'hot' to choose the correct one for her. I told her the 'hot' is exactly the level we are used to or we really like it to be. Because in some restaurants the level 'hot' is not really spicy for Asians like us. My friend asked the waiter again and he said it will be hot, at the same time I told her that she can handle it. I tried the Samosa chat earlier and that's why I was pretty confident about it. The waiter brought the food and we tried it. I strongly feel that he did 'extreme hot' instead of just 'hot'. We were unable to taste it even...there were less flavors and more chillies. He stopped at our table several times asking 'Do you need more water?' It felt like he is mocking us. Since I tried the level 'hot' for Samosa chat earlier that's why I feel he took our conversation personally and changed the spice to 'extreme hot'. None of us could really enjoy our food. This is absolutely unprofessional I think.

We decided to try this restaurant after hearing good things from others and we were so disappointed. We went at lunchtime and ordered the buffet ($19.20 with tax). The food was very bland and very sweet. The butter chicken was extremely sweet, the aloo gobi was sweet (but not as cloyingly sweet as the butter chicken), the tandoori chicken had a very rubbery texture, the samosas were cold and tasted like they had been cooked from frozen. My husband had the paneer lababdar and found it to be bland and also sweet like the other main dishes. I ate less than a small piece of chicken in the butter chicken, a partial piece of potato from the aloo gobi, a bite of the tandoori chicken, a bite of the samosa, and a small piece of naan and, thankfully, the young woman who seated us took the charge off our bill. The restaurant itself is nice, bright, and clean, but the food was very disappointing. We've never had Indian food with so little flavor and so much sweetness. Sadly, we will not be returning.

Had a terrible experience at this place. I had Sunday buffet at this place with my wife. THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY NOT FOR VEGETARIANS! There were only few vegetarian dishes and that too the serving tray was empty. I had to walk all the way to the kitchen to ask them to refill it. Then we waited 10 minutes for the Naan and again had to walk to the kitchen to request that as well. The service was a huge disappointment. Few of the dishes were ok but eventually bland. The sweet dish (Gulab gamun) tray was also found empty entire time and no one bothered to refill. The price of buffet was $18 per person which I found was very high for the food and service provided. Will never visit this place again and again vegetarians please avoid this place for sure. Most of the trays had only curry ingredients it and the main ingredient was missing! Eventually had to go out to the counter to get water refill as well. It was just hopeless!

I had a take-out order that I was taking back home with me after work. I was told it would be about 30 minutes and they were on-time with that - very much appreciated! The woman at the counter was very kind and courteous - was exceptional service for the brief time I was there. More than anything I was excited that there's an Indian restaurant in BG!

I ordered our typical go-to dishes to gauge the quality of the food - Chicken Tikka Masala (Medium) and Saag Paneer (Hot). We also ordered some Garlic Naan and Paneer Kulcha to try the breads in addition to their rice.

I had to take the food for the 30-minute drive home, but it was still very warm (big plus for the carryout containers). The bread had cooled a bit, but not much to be done there. The first thing I noticed was the full piece of star anise in the rice! They are not skimping on the seasoning of their food, and it showed. The rice was well cooked and the mild seasonings complemented the curries very nicely.

Overall, good curries - I wouldn't say they were the best I have ever had, but they were well prepared. My two critiques were that the Saag was too heavily salted, and the Masala was more cream-heavy for my tastes. The "Hot" level was just the right level of heat for me - spicy for most palates, but not overwhelming the flavors of the saag. The "Medium" spice-level on the Masala didn't feel like a proper step down. While it was flavorful, I didn't get much heat on the palate (probably from the cream of the curry mellowing the spices).

The naan was quite good too - I much preferred the garlic naan - very fresh garlic resulted in a nice bite, that balanced with the herbs and butter well.

All-in-all - we'll be back for more. They have an impressive menu for just starting out. I can't wait to try more of the curries, and perhaps some biryani as well. I plan on coming to a lunch buffet over the weekend to try a variety of their dishes. Keep up...

Hey, everyone! I just had an incredible experience at the new Indian spot in Bowling Green, Ohio – "The Curry Lounge" Restaurant & Bar. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you’re in for a treat!

From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, perfect for any occasion. But the real highlight? The food! It’s absolutely amazing. Whether you’re into Indian cuisine or just curious, this place will blow you away. The menu is full of classic dishes like Chicken Tikka Masala and Biryani, each bursting with flavor. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, and every dish is made with love and care. They cater to all tastes, whether you prefer something mild or spicy.

And the service? Top-notch. The staff is friendly, and attentive, and they make you feel at home. The owner personally ensures everything is perfect and makes sure everyone feels welcome – such a nice touch! It’s not just about good food here; it’s about the entire experience. The bar is also a great spot to unwind with unique cocktails inspired by Indian flavors.

The response from the community has been amazing, and I can see why. The Curry Lounge isn’t just a restaurant – it’s a place that brings people together. Whether you’re dining with friends, and family, or just treating yourself, you’ll feel like part of the family here.

If you’re in Bowling Green, you’ve got to check this place out. Trust me, it’s worth it. The Curry Lounge has everything you need for a fantastic night out – delicious food, great drinks, and a...

I really want The Curry Lounge to succeed. Their take out is fantastic and we love it and would give that part of their service 5 stars. But I just had their mid-week buffet and it was so very bad. I am assuming the owners will read this review, so here is how to improve: Play music. The place was dead quiet, I could hear the person behind me chewing with their mouth open, the guy at the next table gagging on his snot. The ambience was terrible. Space people out in the available area. Don't sit everybody in one clump, space the tables out. There are a lot of hard surfaces in this space so sound will reverb, but spacing people out will improve that a little bit. Put food on the buffet. When we got there very little food was left on the buffet. There was no more chicken in the chicken curry, the naan was gone, and several items were cold. The taste is good, but there needs to be food available in order to actually taste it. I asked the server if more naan was coming out and he said yes, but then nothing ever came. For reference, we were there from noon to 12:30 on a Monday. This wasn't a case of fringe lunch hours. Follow through on items ordered. My wife ordered a mango lassie, it never came. That could've been a few more dollars in your pocket!

Again, I want you to succeed - its been many years in the making to have a curry house in BG. Please make these minor adjustments to ensure your...
