We went to Eau to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived we noticed that there were 2 different dining areas. We ate in the bar area. At first look it was a romantic elegant setting. It had low lighting and candles on the tables. The wait staff was friendly and dressed very professionally in black pants and shirts. Then we noticed that there were big screen tvs over the bar with spots playing and they were playing country music. The bartender was wearing a sweatshirt and jeans. She looked very unprofessional and not at all keeping with the rest of the staff. It was confusing as to what kind of atmosphere they were going for... elegant and romantic or sports bar. The other side of the restaurant was more brightly lit, but looked like a nice area. If that side had dimmed lighting and candles it would be very elegant and romantic. Linen tablecloths would really put it over the top. The menu is definitely fine dining. We had the goat cheese and heirloom tomatoes as a starter and it was superb! For entrees my husband had the New York Strip steak which was tender but lacked flavor and I had the scallops. The scallops were tasty but the plate looked bland. The scallops are white in color and they were served with pureed potatoes all on a white plate. They did give us a free chocolate cake with ice cream and raspberry puree for our anniversary. The dessert was delicious, but the raspberry only consisted of 3 drops on the plate. It was more for presentation than taste. I definitely think this restaurant has potential if they can get their...
Read moreWifey and I popped in a few days ago just to grab a cocktail and chat. It was an early afternoon break and the bartender, Cathy, took great care of us. And so, with one solid experience under our belts after a belt, we left for our evening out with friends. Yesterday Wifey suggested another round. Glad we did. Again, Cathy took great care of us. The first time I was there, I had a simple gin and tonic with Hendrick's gin, and it was very good. This time I had a lemon drop martini that was simply delicious. Wifey had a glass of the Cabernet. Again, quite tasty. This time we ordered a couple of appetizers. My mom is an expert when it comes to making crab cakes. I rarely order them when I'm out because I'm usually disappointed. Not this time. I'm forced to give them a nine out of ten out of respect to my mother. We also ordered the tuna appetizer. Simple, large portion perfect for two and very tasty. We looked at the menu and see quite a few things we'd be interested in trying some other time. So while I can't review the full dinner experience, I can offer my one hundred percent statement of assurance that if you just go to grab a drink and have an appetizer you're gonna have a great time.
Not sure when they shut down but they...
Read moreFood was divine. We had Mahi Mahi & Rainbow Trout entrees, and Breads, Spread & Dips & Lump Crab Cake appetizers. Bread Pudding was the best we've ever eaten anywhere. The only reason we rate a 4 on service is because one of our servers reached over the whole table to place an entree on the table, not a big deal, but food price was commiserate w/fully trained fine-dining staff. We didn't reduce the tip at all as a result. I did get the feeling that our primary server would have done anything we requested if it was within reason to ensure we had a great dining experience. I look forward to going back. Yum, yum, yum. Solid marks on Speciality Cocktails, also. We had a few of drinks each so that did push our dinner cost up by at least $50. We think our primary server's name was either James or Charles. He...
