Damascus Delicacies — Restaurant in Bowling Green

We found this restaurant unexpectedly this afternoon and we are so glad we did. This restaurant is very close to the square and right across the street from a parking garage with free parking so it is very easy to access. They served generous portions at affordable prices and our food was made fresh and cooked to order. Our biggest problem was that we could not order and eat everything today. There were so many things on the menu that looked incredible and delicious so we will have to go back over and over to try each of the different dishes.

We ordered the kibbeh for our appetizer, the large shawarma platter to share for our main dish, and the awameh for dessert. The filling in the kibbeh was incredible. As someone who typically does not like meat, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the filing was. We shared the large shawarma platter between the two of us and we had food leftover to bring home. The salad was fresh, crunchy, and flavorful. The rice underneath was delicious. It had meat and crispy pieces of some sort of pastry. They were a delightful surprise. The flavors and spices were all very well balanced. The dessert was also very good. We were expecting a donut hole texture but it was very crispy and more dense. It also was the perfect sweetness. Not lacking and not over powering.

The service was very wonderful as well. The staff is very cheerful, polite, and nice. The whole experience was wonderful and we will definitely be returning.
